Tipping is heavily influenced by who you want to win , particularly if you want someone to lose badly .

Understand some thinking 50/50 , but anyone with common sense would think Richmond with the high possibility it could be wet

Queenslanders are a bunch of hillbilly sooks.

They get the GF in town for a once a lifetime shot at history

And they cant put a single *smile* balloon or a streamer in the window

Managed to get one of the Mark Knight Ltd foil 2020 premiership posters.
Presale sold out in 2 minutes, have a deal that a mate will buy it from me if Geelong win but hopefully this won't be required.

Keep hearing how Geelong are coming into this game as the form team. Wasn't it only in Round 17 that we spanked them so silly that the rest of the AFL gulped loudly?

Ah yes, but they didn’t have Gary Rohan.

I would do ‘anything’ if I lived in Brisbane to go.
Once in a lifetime GF in the state & at night.
Each to their own I guess. Most are pretty much ‘footy mad’ and ‘spirts mad’ in Melbourne.

Strange having today a public holiday , no GF parade, nothing.

Eerie strange.

IF we WIN I may drive into Tiger heartland and just ‘toot my horn ‘ loudly with my scarf, flag out of my car... IF.

Yeah but Geelong did not have Stanley, Selwood or the little master, so they'll turn that result around tomorrow night

I'm not a betting man, but there are games throughout the year that you know who is going to win, especially when a team has put all their effort into winning a particular game, and then have to front up the next week. Happens all the time. A good example is if Melbourne wins a big game...they feel pretty good about themselves and invariably lose the next week.

The "Playing their GF" effect.

3 examples of games you could have bet the farm on:

R12 Geel v Port. Port played us the week before and I've never seen a team so ferocious in their tackling. This was their chance to show the football world that they are top dog, and are the best team in the land. Was a very emotional win for them. They flew to Brissy to play the Cats the next week and they were unrecognizable from the week before. Their pressure was virtually non-existent. Geelong in a bruise-free canter. Geelong hailed as flag favourites for beating the top of the table Power.

SF Geel v Coll. Brilliant and totally unexpected win by Collingwood against the Eagles in Perth in the EF. Flew back to QLD and were flat as a tack against Geelong. Another bruise-free win for the Cats. How good are the Cats!

PF Geel v Bris. Against the reigning premiers in the QF, and after 15 consecutive losses, the Lions finally beat the Tiges. The carry on after the game was equivalent to the scenes after the drought breaking 2017 GF. The Lions had finally made it! The 2020 GF is at the Gabba, all they have to do it turn up against Geelong and they're into their rightful GF in front of a home crowd. Result: the Lions turned up alright, but the pressure of the QF wasn't there at all. They were totally lame after having conquered Everest the game before. Geelong in another bruise-free canter.

Seriously, these 3 wins have been touted as their best 3 wins of the year. They were training runs with zero pressure!! They are old and just not that good.

When (not if) we bring our pressure game tomorrow night, they won't know what has hit them.

Tiges by plenty.

Watching the ultimate GF preview on Fox Footy last night with Lyon, roo, brown, king, and Montagna they all pretty much bar Roo went for Cats.
Most saying cats are coming into the GF with better form. I was thinking what the? If we look at our last 5 games from when we last played them RD17 which mind you wasn’t that long ago we beat them convincingly (both teams had players out). RD18 cats barely got over the swans (they won by 6 points). We beat crows easily. First final we both lost to port and lions by just under 3 goals.

Semi-final cats beat the pies easily who were 100% cooked. We beat saints easily. Prelim we beat the team who beat the cats just 2 weeks prior on their home deck. Cats beat the lions who played their GF 2 weeks prior against us. The lions were half cooked. Funnily enough cats fans seem to think they deserve credit for making the pies or lions play that way, anyone who watched the game could clearly see that the pies put up the white flag very early and cats did what they pleased. The lions showed some resistance about 5 mins a qtr and when they did put pressure on the cats they prevented the cats from scoring and the cats also turned it over with rushed kicks. Us tiger supporters know we did the same in the GF we know GWS were cooked and we did what we pleased.

Can anyone say with a straight face that the pies and to a lesser extent the lions put constant pressure on the cats throughout the whole game.
The cats were able to do what they wanted with ease as no pressure was applied. They won't get that luxury come Sat night. Our pressure will be relentless.

So last 5 games which is a good sample size of form, cats won 3 and lost 2 (two of those losses against pressure teams Port and Tiges).
Cats +72 points combined winning margin (minus their points losses). Tiges +92 combined winning margin. Tigers won 4 and lost 1.

That loss to the Lions looking in hindsight will be the catalyst towards winning the flag. Lynch and Broad are back since that game, mileage into the legs of several key players, fine-tuning our clearance game which is now a major strength in this finals series. Also, fine-tuning our ruck situation with Astbury giving Nank a chop out. The Undsiclipplined acts v Lions better to learn those lessons in a game where we had the double chance, now all this could've happened in a PF or GF and a likely loss occurring.

The Media have the cats drinking their own bathwater. We bring the manic pressure and speed into the game, we beat them.
Tipping our boys to topple the cats anywhere between 20-30 points.

Agree - I think everyone, everyone has fallen into what they want to happen, not what they think will happen - all the emotion is on the cats, all the pressure is on the cats - all the media and supporters don’t realise that they are making it harder for the cats to win, that’s a lot of baggage for them to carry into the game for so many players never yet to play in the last game of the season - I can see another Adelaide GF performance coming for them if they are not careful.

Conversely - the tigers have them where they want them and are quietly, as Emma Murray says, going about their business.

I posted on another thread a quote from the Roar -
“The thing with Richmond is when they begin to play on a knife’s edge, they become their most dangerous and are so good that no-one is a chance of stopping them. Their work rate around the stoppages and centre clearances against Port Adelaide in the prelim was elite, and not to mention they boast one of the best finals players in Dustin Martin” - and the author still tipped the cats.

*smile* I'm starting to get nervous. No work getting done today.

Feel so privileged to see the game tomorrow. I haven't seen us lose a game live since 2016. That includes all wins in Qld this year, QF last year, 2017 GF. I reckon my winning streak is 15 or more.

Wouldnt the footy gods be *smile*, following that run after 37 years of misery, to break my run when the GF is in my backyard?
