Government Stimulus package.

Is Sony a charity? I think I heard him calling it the 'plasma bonus' not long ago.

It's pretty unfair to tar everyone with the same brush. I am sure for many people that the bonus will help them out in the short term.

What do you mean? That doesn't make sense?

All sorts of people live in all sorts of different circumstances. There are vast extremes of wealth in this country. For many they are never going to rise above their current situation no matter how hard they work.

If he doesn't want the 900 dollars I am sure their are those in need who would appreciate it. Or it could go to a recognised charity. Or he could send it back.

I know that, but from what I have gathered over the last few years Liverpool thinks that anyone who receives the same entitlements as he does deserves no charity. I'll let him explain the logic behind it if he wants to - or maybe I've misread him all this time.

How do you know who he/she voted for?

It's a really simple concept. It doesn't need to be diverted by arguments about taxes and fees and charges and who I may have voted for.

Well Play Centre...who did you vote for then?
(Disco was wondering it seems)

If you are so stridently opposed to the stimulus package money you simply should not accept it.
If you accept it, then it's hypocrisy to rail against it on a public forum like this.

No, it would be hypocrisy if i went and spent the money like the Chairman told us all too and complained about it ;)

My stimulus is safely in the bank earning interest and will sit there until the Chairman stitches me up with higher taxes and other crap he'll ping the 'achievers" of this country with.
Then the Chairman will get it back (and some!)

Gee.....boo-hoo :'( :nopity

Why should the achievers of this country be punished with higher taxes to fund the people who are not so well-off?

C'mon Livers. You know better than to ask who people voted for.

I voted for Labor. I will be the first to admit that I was fooled by Rudd. But having said that, I now see Rudd as being very similar to Howard. Don't forget that Howard delivered surpluses on the back of the selling of major public assets. There's only so many times you can sell Telstra, for instance. If it wasn't for that, there would be no surplus. If Howard was still in power, what would you have him do? Ok, he may not have handed out money like Rudd has but he still would have had to go into large deficits regardless.

Only whilst there's a government guarantee on deposit accounts. When that expires, your money is at the mercy of the bank.

Because those are not so well off are in that position more and more because those who are well off no longer believe in paying a fair days pay for a fair days work. Hence the widening gap between the rich and poor. Or would you like my recent thoughts to come to fruition:

That everyone on less than the average Australian wage should simply quit their jobs and make the wealthy actually prove their worth by doing the work themselves. Let's see what they are actually worth. Unfortunately Livers, you forget the true value of the everyday worker because basically, you believe in slavery. Yes, I'll put it that way. You believe that only a select few should have everything and that everyone else can get stuffed. No need to provide any incentive to the common man other than simple survival. I've often thought about this and if it ever comes down to a choice between earning a fair days pay for a fair days work OR working my butt off so some rich prick can have it all while I can barely manage to live,

I'd rather be dead.

I wasn't wondering that at all. I was wondering how you knew who Playcentre voted for.

So even though you think he's a moron you're going to do what he says? Who's dumber, the idiot or the person who does what the idiot tells them to do?

Gee you people are cynical. Must come from being Tiger supporters I guess.

Yep, cynical. But being a Tigers supporter hasn't taught me that. The real world did that very nicely all on it's own. Particularly the actions of the human race.

Being a Tiger's supporter has taught me what's it's like to be loyal. I'll never support another club as long as I live.
