Golf

I thought the sanga was like eating a toothpaste sanga .

Just on tickets , I think your right Mopsy a tour group is the way to go, I purchased my tickets via stubhub , which is an easy process , however it means you have to organise accommodation etc.

Thanks for the tip with the Golf TV app Rudeford , wondered why the match play wasn’t on Fox.

Mopsy I do know someone who is going to be at Augusta, not sure which days however im sure he’d love the tickets if he’s not allready going…edit dosent get there until Thursday
Some good golf info being exchanged here. Great thread.

As an extension of that, for anyone using GOLFTV, if there’s an event that you think should be shown on there (eg the WGC events, Tour events) but it’s not appearing, remove the app and reload and it’ll appear.

A few times recently I’ve gone in through my Apple TV box, click on the GOLFTV app, and it’s only showing last weeks event. Nothing about the current one. Even when it’s on their calandar. Weird. Can be a clunky app sometimes albeit some cracking coverage.

Further, if you watch any of the featured groups on GOLFTV, you get different cameras that show you totally different views of the play compared to the main GOLFTV broadcast or that of the regular CBS or NBC coverage. Especially around the greens. They use ground level cameras that show you slopes and breaks, hills etc rather than the traditional tv tower cameras which flatten everything out. At the Players, I didn’t realise the fearsome breaks on some greens. It was really cool.

Anyway, top thread this. How good is golf.

A.Scott loses last 4 holes to lose 1 up on the 18th to Kisner.

The hardest player to watch is A.Scott. So hard.

Speaking of Kiz, he's been playing pretty well the last month or so and has had a T21 at the Masters.

He has teased me before, but giving him another chance, backed him on Saturday e/w to win the Masters at $151.

Read some articles on $cottie, has been a free agent, but recently signed with TaylorMade. He is now using the same iron shafts and heads as Tiger.

One of the articles tells how particular Tiger is and how he can tell if something is not quite right.

“I think the biggest thing when we looked at Tiger’s (previous) specs was the level of granularity, and how in-depth and precise it was,” said Paul Demkowski, Manager of Product Development at TaylorMade. “A human hair is like six thousandths of an inch. His specs are down to the thousandths of an inch, and he can see that and feel the difference.”

"Now, as Scheffler takes on the field at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play, he’ll be using the same P-7TW iron heads that Woods, a three-time winner of the event, helped design. Scheffler also is using the same True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 Tour Issue shafts that Woods uses, as well.

Given Woods’ unmatched dominance in match play, maybe the irons can help Scheffler add another title to this year’s impressive haul after finishing runner-up last year at Austin Country Club."

Yeah I noticed he had a Taylor Made bag at the WGC.

Tiger completes an 18 hole practice round at Augusta with Justin Thomas.

Great sign, having Tiger there this year will add a whole new level of interest and excitement to the event.

The National Classic is on next week from Tuesday through Friday if anybody is interested in coming down for a look , it will be played on the Tom Doak designed Gunnamatta course ( 8th in Australia) .

Was at a function hitting a few balls with a few of the players the other night , anyway Noah Balta had a few hits with my new Stealth , couple of skied balls later I thought ohh *smile* , didn’t look until the next day at the crown , yep 2 big sky marks , started thinking maybe that ads value , like a special stamp mark from a Premiership Tiger :)) long story short , gave it a rub and the marks came off , not sure if it’s the crown of the stealth or the type of range ball, anyhow all good . Bakes put a couple out at the 280 mark on the trackman .

Just watching the Golf, first time I’ve seen the Victoria golf ad , lots of vision of the “ Nash”

How good Masters week nearly here

You’d have scuffed it yourself anyway with that weight on the back foot follow through of yours.

Very hard to “sky” a ball when your hitting of the back foot :))
You can either top it …or sky it by getting right underneath it. Especially numpters with a choppy swing that tee it too high. Spieth is working on something similar to that right now with that reverse shoulder tilt thing that he has going.

Wrong , if you have all your weight on your back foot the club will be travelling up at impact , most liklet it will have bottomed out somewhere near your back foot and be heading back up most likely topping the ball .

Now I know this will be hardy for you ol dodgy knees , however grab a club , have your back foot planted on the ground , release the club where it would be at impact ( front foot ) and notice how high of the ground the club is , they don’t make tees that high , however obviously lots of weird and wonderful things happen in a golf swing , however going on standard body movements, you won’t sky the ball from the back foot

Well, theres like half a dozen websites with some of the best instructors in the world citing that if you play off the back foot with a driver you’re a chance to either top it or sky it - the latter especially the case if the ball is teed up too high and the ball too far back in the stance.

However, I appreciate your weird swing may be producing all sorts of inverse results that can’t be explained by mere mortals.

Just having a little Asahi and Calamari after creating the greatest knuckle balls since Tigers stinger :))

Masters channel starts tomorrow at 9am.

We have seen em all before, multiple times, but golf at Augusta is something you never get sick of watching.

Bring it on!

Was just reading about the changes to 11 and 15. I mostly approve but would have made 15 even longer.

I’ve had 4 very small wagers on 4 players at both the Masters an Open. Zalatoris, Mcinytre, Smith C, Fitzpatrick, basically they will work like scratchings for other punters ;)
