Golf

Been loving watching old Masters highlights the last couple of days, just brilliant.

Which has got me to thinking……what’s the best golf shot ever played in your humble opinion?

Tiger’s chip on 16 back in 05 is the obvious choice, but consider some others.

We all hated it, but Larry Mize chipping in on 11 on the 2nd playoff hole against the Shark in 86 was clutch.

Not so obvious, but very critical, was Tiger hitting the middle of 12th green at Augusta in 19 whilst all his closest rivals dumped theirs in Rae’s Creek.

Phil Mickelson gets lauded for his approach to 13 from the pine straw. Great shot yes, but I’m positive he went on to miss the putt anyway. Does it lose impact for that?

Just a few I can think of, and obviously Masters focused, but what does everyone else reckon is the best shot they have seen?

You running the comp or what, Redders?
And here it is ! The one you've all been waiting for: The 2022 US Disasters, proudly sponsored by Drofder Enterprises. "Get off on Drof."

Who will win the fabled Red Jacket ? Will Mr Burnside finish last again ? (heh heh no brainer)

You know the rules, but for doofuses like Burnside, here they are again:

Select 6 golfers totalling no more than 300 points from the attached list. The winner will be the entrant with the lowest combined score for their 6 players. In the case where the cut is missed or the player withdraws, the player will receive a score of the field average +2 strokes for the final rounds.

Goodluck to all and may the best Redford win.

Entries close Thursday April 7 at 5pm.

I was starting to think Drofder Enterprises has gone into administration!

Btw, how are the points calculated? Is there an element of randomness in the differentials between players or some sort of formula?

Same. So many memories. Missing the start of school every Masters Monday, mum having to drive us late.

Bubba's hooked wedge after missing the fairway in the playoff on 10 was a much better shot than Phil's IMO.

Hoch missing the short putt to win in 89.. Speith unravelling on 12. Ray Floyd hitting it in the water on 11 in the playoff against Faldo. Normans catastrophe in 96. His opening round struggles. Couples regular cut making into his senior years.

Norman made an eagle putt on 13 in 99 (the year Olazabal won) and looked to the sky and I thought was fate and he would go on to finally win.

it is the one unmissable sports event of the year

That’s a special calculation formulated by the men in Red Jackets.

Yes! Hate Bubba but his shot on 10 in the playoff was absolutely amazing.

I stood in that very spot in 2014 and could not comprehend how he pulled it off.

Fantastic shot.
