Most Companies have the thinnest faced drivers in the tour players bags , if you ever get the chance to get a tour stamped driver , grab it it will ad 20 yards

Quick question for those more knowledgable than me on the finer points of the game. I realise walking across another players putting line is an ethical no no, just wondering if it can incur a penalty?

By the way Louis oosthuizen reminds me a lot of the great A.B devilliers in terms of his mental strength. Personally hope he snags this one.

Everyone says how good the English galleries are, how knowledgeable they are. I reckon they're too vanilla, I'd like to see a few football fans amongst them.

20? Is that be cause the ball rebounds off the face better?

Does it make it harder to hit straight?

How does one stay up until 4am??? It really is such a shot makers tournament that you want to watch the entire round. Tough with the time difference.

I've always wondered how much better quality gear tour pros use compared to what we can buy in the same product.

Cricket bats are all a completely different make for elite players than the same branded ones in the shops, I assume golf clubs are the same?
The fitting system alone is exceptional. I believe when the heads of drivers are made and tested the best ( longest) are tour stamped and supplied to the tour players .

Yeah but their tolerances aren’t as great - meaning the ole weekend battler would be replacing their equipment more regularly if they had Tour stamped equipment. And they probably couldn’t take advantage of it properly either.

On that front, I read a great Sports Illustrated article about 10 or 12 years ago how in many sports the equipment developments in most of them benefit the pro immensely more than they do the amateur. Tennis and golf especially. The golf manufacturers are always resisting the governing authorities claims of technology ruining the game by saying it makes the game easier and more enjoyable for amateurs, but it’s really the skilled pro that takes advantage of it the most. This is where the debate about two sets of equipment standards for pros v amateurs starts to take off.
