Ariya Jutanugarn after leading the ladies US open by seven shots, shot 5 over on the back nine to be forced into a playoff which she won on the 4th extra hole. It was incredible to watch, 2 very good bunker shots was the difference in the playoff.

Get the feel DeChambeu is not the most popular bloke with the commentators, seems to be constantly whinging.

No-one likes a slow player. Same for Cantlay. Both are awful to watch. Day not too far behind.

True.

Wouldn’t mind seeing players have to putt out , no marking the ball once you’ve had your first putt an bugger stepping on somebody’s line , no such thing as a spike mark anymore

Kevin Na can walk on my line but no way I'm letting Kiradech Aphibarnrat do it.

Anyway, on slow-play. Bring in the shot clock like they do in a couple of Euro events.

Good effort by Adam Scott to pre Q for the US open

Yes it is.
He's been playing better the last month or so.
Why did he have to qualify? I thought he might have an exemption for his win in the masters, obviously not.

I think it’s 5 year exemption with Majors ? I read his got the second longest streak at consecutive majors (57) behind Sergio

Good to see Bendigo Golfer Lucas Herbert qualify too, he was 12 under in a 36 hole qualifying tournament in Portland, Oregon winning by 3 shots. A great effort from the young fella.
He is playing in the British Open as well, after qualifying earlier on in another tournament.

Good to hear, his said to be the best talent of the next breed.

He looks sharp. Meanwhile, a typical Curtis Luck card on the web.com tour will include a run of birdie, birdie, eagle, triple-bogey, birdie, double-bogey. Must be infuriating for him.

US Open at Shinnecock Hills, pretty sure the Shark has lead twice into the final round there.

Should be a beauty

Looking forward to this one. Let’s see how the greens behave. Rose has been backed heavily, including by me, so expect him to open with a 76.

Fingers crossed for Leish but reckon his best chance for a Major will be at Carnoustie next month.

Like Tommy Fleetwood and Branden Grace at odds. Would love to see tiger boy Leish win it though.

Great course, should be a ripper, although forecast is pretty placid, sunny and not too windy.

Can’t see many staying under par in these conditions

It is windy - forecast was for 12 mph winds, much stronger than that and greens pretty fast. Its very British open style golf, almost brutal day 1.

Saying wind is gusting up to 25mph in some areas.

Always fun to see the best in the world work their butts off for a score.

English golfer Scott Gregory found the conditions testing, shot a 92, shot bogie or worse on 15 of the holes. I wouldn't have looked out of place playing with him :hihi
