Did you know that in 2010 the heavy rains that develop in the Caribbean and usually dump on Russia (feeding much of the world's grain harvest) missed Russia entirely and instead carried on to India where it dropped during their monsoon season, producing 6 times their normal rainfall and killing 50000 people? Does that not strike you as a fairly dramatic and alarming disturbance in the climate as we've known it?

My cafe is killing it thanks mate.

I know all about the real world. For instance a mate of mine is a jeweller, small time, 2 kids, mortgage, etc. He struggles for cash a lot of the time. Yet he manages to live in a dwelling with no electricity connection. If he can do it, we all can. Another example is a small town near me that runs entirely on wind power. It also helps supply other markets nearby. Again, if they can do it, anyone can.

Man made emissions may or may not be having an impact on our environment. It's such a murky subject now I have no idea and don't really trust much of what's available from both sides. The point is though that we can hedge our bets by significantly by lowering emissions while actually making use of resources that are replenishing, unlike many current poluting methods. If we can do that, why wouldn't we?

There's plenty of evidence that the climate is changing all around us. If farmers are recording record rains it means others are suffering record droughts. That's the way the climate actually works. Whether we caused it or not is up for debate, but the fact that certain measures can help reduce the risks isn't.

They're pretty cluey these days willo. They can track weather patterns very accurately hence they're 100% sure te rain that caused the floods in India was the rain that usually feeds Russia's grain harvests.

It's a long way from Russia to India. Nearly half the globe. It didn't just miss by a little bit and I'm not sure but got the impression this was the first time such had happened in recorded history.
