Genuine trade bait

its funny here now im giving brett and the 1st pick to get o'meara/tambling brother.

and i thought i was suggesting upgrading my 1st round pick into no.5.

Getting sick of correcting people here

Dont write ridiculous coments then.
Give away the talent of Delidio to get a untried 17 year old!
I heard dumb things over the years, but this is closet to the best!
The only time you trade a player of lids calibre is when you get Joel Selwood on return.

Is it ridiculous to suggest that Deledio might not be worth the chance to basically get 2 top 5 picks, which is virtually what this deal would suggest.

Deledio isnt worth Joel Selwood dont kid yourself there, he plays mainly as a running half back one of the best in the comp has really good consistency, wins lots of ball and provides plenty of run but he doesnt tear games apart like some champion players do when the pressure is on.

Even Cotchin and Martin already show more of that ability to turn a match then Deledio does but maybe not yet the consistancy.

Bit unfair on Lid's. Played in a weak team for all his career and stood out with two Best and Fairest and easily or brightest star at that point. Not easy for a kid to do what he has done. He now has a decent core around him, and this year I think I have seen him play his best team football.

To be fair not many in our recent history compare to Cotchin and Martin. I have said it from Day One Cotchin is the best talent to walk in our door for 30 years. Martin comes in close for mine. Deledio would be in the top 10 also.

Ok no problem its purely a very unlikely hypothetical situation we would trade him, and in no way do i not rate deledio i just think he is lacking something to go from a very good player to a champion. I certainly hope he can prove me wrong.

It would be better if you went to a game before posting silliness. Lids is far and away our best and most valuable player.

Didn't you say Deledio and pick 14? That's a pretty big difference. Basically Deledio for O'Meara and a 9 slot upgrade in a draft where the real top end talent will be gone by pick 5.

As usual at Richmond, the focus of angst turns to those who can play, when the real problem is those who can't.

Spot on oldie. It's about building our list and trading Lids is pretty silly IMHO, unless there was some suggestion he wanted out like Ottens did.

Lids stil has improvement in him and hopefully we will see more of him in the midfield next year where we need some more quality right now, not in 3 years time

The Zips tradeables!
Foley
Jackson
Morton
Mcguane
Edwards
White
Newman
King

For the right price, these would be used to help us to fill holes currently in our side.
Good ruckman, Clarke
Good defender, thompeon
Good midfielder, Silivia
Players that i would look at Jordan Russell, Ben Ross, Brodie Moyes, Shannon Byrnes
John McCartney, David Rodan,

Reading the HUN and Nason is looking at returning to Adelaide, trade him for Maric, deal done beautifully.....RFC shouldn't concede anymore in a deal, Maric was out of favor this season as was Nason, both around the same age.....straight swap, perfect.

1000% agree! Otherwise push him into the preseason and get for nothing.
I wouldnt give them more then a 3rd rounder for Maric.
The club has better people there now, I can see another Houli getting told to wait to the preseason draft.

I have a feeling this is the trade that gets Maric, happy enough with that. Now onto the backman that will be crossing over from....

Jordan Russell is one I would look at but I'm not certain he would come cheap.

Would be ideal but would doubt he would last to our pick in the PSD, I really hope we don't pay overs in any capacity. Adelaide fans want a lot in return for a bloke who could barely get a game this year...deluded.

Did anyone see Hampson dominate on the weekend in VFL....Warnock and Kreuzer look very good at AFL level together, Hampson couldn't get a game with Kreuzer out, I'd be going after him.

Why would you put up our 3 best young talls. Post is just starting to show something and the other two have had a bad run with injury. I reckon we give them a decent chance to shine before we try to ofload them.

As alot of people have said, the problem being we dont have many seasoned campaigners that carry much currency in the trade market. We may have to take a gamble and trade 1 of those 3 young fellas (post/ griffiths/ astbury). Being realistic i'm not sure there is a spot for all 3 in our team at once next year anyway.

My proposed trade would be Astbury, Edwards and a draft pick to Adelaide for Maric and Gunston in return.... The crows need a CHB and more carrying midfielders and we need a ruckman and Gunston is going 2 b a gun.

No doubt Astbury and Edwards are quality players and will probably both thrive in Adelaide, but unfortunately until Gus can become more consistent we need a ruckman, it is going to cost us something....

Now the crows want their compo pick back they gave us in the tambling trade. If they really think Maric is that good why did he only play a handful of games...I have faith that we won't bite...

Trading Astbury now is selling low in the extreme. He would have been worth more last year and is likely to be worth more next year unless injury stops him playing. Astbury's also known for his good character whereas Gunston walked out on his teammates without even attending the club awards night.
