General Trade Discussion 2022

Good Jay Clark article today about what picks 1-10, 11-20 and 20-30 from 2012 -17 fetch In terms of flags, b&f’s and All-Australians. Pick 19 sliding to 21 significantly changes the return. I’m so much more comfortable with the Taranto trade in what is looking like a weak draft.

I referred to that today Scoop and why clubs, like Richmond, aren’t averse to trading those 11-20 picks.

Hah hah hah King is going into meltdown as I thought.

“North have been dudded.”
“This puts a full stop on a terrible few years”

….and more.

I think the argument used is a little flawed. Why go up in groups of 10? Very arbitrary. There is bugger all difference between 19 and 21.

Is it just me or did they give away pick 1 last year JHF plus pick 1 this year for 2,3 and Ports 1st pick next year prob 10-15ish and some late picks. Seems unders for me considering JHF should have been a couple of first rounders on his own and Pick one this year should have been as well.

GWS would have thrown other picks at it as well as i mentioned

They chucked in Pies F2+#3+#12 to get this done now
Pick 12 was ours, they don't get to touch unless they deal with West Coast, I reckon without it they would have really struggled. But in any case, those who suggested Cadman wasn't obtainable have just witnessed GWS pull off another heist, I'm starting to hate them as much as I hate Collingwood.

I always wonder what/how oppo supporters feel seeing at least 1 player 'wanting' to leave their club.

Glad we had none.

Not sure about that hyperbole but they looked the winner to me. Despite his iffy first year I think JHF will be a very good player.

JHF is a jet, once he grows up he will be a cream of the competition player.

They've also grabbed a very good small forward in Junior Rioli for basically pick 8 and next years first pick.

We may well be talking about this deal being the reason they win the flag next season.

Cadman‘s manager is probably already teeing up his move away from GWS next year. Number 1 picks are becoming the Kings of the entitled generation.

Hate all you like. Until they start winning premierships I couldn’t give a *smile*.

A bit of a premature thought there! The two players in question are young and still learning the game. Port still have problems within their playing group
