Game Day vs St Kilda

Yze shouldve moved Young or Miller forward.
Try win it.
We went into our 50 more then them in the last qtr

You saw Kosi's game completely different to mine. I thought he was good in the 1st half and rubbish in the 2nd.
Hard to tell on TV, but I’m basing that judgement on when I thought he was competing - I at least thought in the second half he was showing more intent & getting to the right spots (although agree he doesn’t go all in every time - noticed the same thing against Gold Coast which I saw live).

Lefau couldn’t even get to the right spots let alone compete.

Norwood just didn’t suit us today.

With a relatively small ground there’s no space for small’s to run and be creative.

Quality talks on a ground like that are worth their weight in gold.

Unfortunately ours we’re watching from their lounge rooms.

This is what I'm sick and tired of. We started off the 1st like a top 4 side only to fall into our bad habits of messy football and now end up losing.

Even Vlastuin. He didn't have to space this week to work in in defence. Might have clunked a mark or two, or at least bring the thing to ground

I thought we were ok up until half time, then our ball movement became scrappy as we couldn't control the game with marks, and then our ball use into 50 was awful.

I actually thought Kosi was quite good in the 1st half but was rubbish in the 2nd half. Got to good positions in the 1st, brought it to ground, took a few marks and got a goal, but his 2nd half was disappointing.

Lefau just doesn't end up doing enough IMO, maybe we need to play smaller. Pickett I thought was rubbish, even at the end there, Wilson had fumbled the ball, Pickett 1st man to the contest should have been able to touch the ball off the ground towards Rioli, but doesn't get near it and Wilson can scramble the ball away.

Still as we've said all year, this season is all about seeing what our kids have got. Campbell was good in spells but needs to tidy up some of his ball use, Brown is going to be very very good for us, MRJ is showing he can play at the level, as does Mansell. I think we have a KD for the next 5 years in Miller. Has been super impressive in that role this season.

Sonz - Not sure about, he has the skill, we all know about that, but some of his attempts at the ball were poor, that underground handball at the end looked a really poor choice on TV but maybe there was literally no-one inside 50.

McAuliffe looked good in the time he was on the ground.
So now you are repeating exactly what I stated about Seth couple of weeks ago and you had a hissy fit over it. :(

I haven't been convinced by Sonz at all yet, nor that his skills are that great at this level. Lot of errors, turnovers. Sure, very young and should improve plenty but, at worst, maybe just one of those in-between good VFL types.

I reckon the Tigers should just to take a risk and play a defender forward to negate at least one of the opposition key backs.

Then let Lefau run around as a half forward where he can pressure contests instead of get lead to the ball by defenders all day.

At least someone who can read the play and know where to go and where the ball is going to come in.

Stick Broad or Vlas up forward to negate a tall opposition back especially next week with McGovern and Barass will take 50 marks between em next week.

Grimes will be back in as will Baker, so Grimes cam go back with Tigger or Broad up forward.

Its worth a shot imo.

Vlas has shown himself handy up forward at times.

Couldnt be any worse than we were up front today.

Our backline has beeen pretty bloody good all things considered.
I’d try Young forward. Miller is developing as a key back, so let’s persevere with him doing that.

We tried Miller as forward/ruck last year and it failed.

Nevertheless, I reckon the two ruck option has to be next version. Neither Nank nor Naismith look like forwards, but it can’t be worse than today.

Disappointed, and frustrated, but with Bakes, Tom and Balta on top of all the other injuries, it was a bridge too far.

We need better kicks of the footy.
Some of Dustys kicks are horrible
Short just kicks it to noone
Flappers and Pickett can't kick period.
Broad kicked the ball more times to Stkilda then stkilda players.

How Cumberland can't get a game has me fked.
We are playing blokes that aren't AFL standard.
I'm sorry but smalls need to hit the scoreboard.
Mansell Campbell & Rioli aren't doing it

Can't fault the effort just decision making going forward was terrible. We just kept bombing it in high when we had zero talls that could get near it. We were better off getting it in there fast and low with the hope we could snag the goals.

If I was a stkilda supporter I wouldn't be happy with that shiit.
That's there best 22.
While we are missing at least 6 players

Don't think they were our issue today. Our talls couldn't get near it to bring it to ground so they can get to work. Our best tall fwd today was Shai. We kicked inside 50 today as If Lynch and Balta were playing

Although Yze was outchoached at times today was great to see him counter. Only reason we are in games this year is due to Yzes smarts.
I reckon in the last year or two after that 3rd quarter and when st kilda got the first goal in the last we would have turned our toes up.
From that point on we had 10 more inside 50s than st kilda. Yeah we lacked a target and we lacked some polish but this team under Yze has some fight and it’s bloody good to see.
No one is going to get an easy game against us under this coach and we are only going to get better as we get some soldiers back.
Btw another guy who would have been handy today was Baker.

Totally agree. It seems he knows how to counter when teams get a bit of a run on. Years gone by once trams got a hold of us we had no answers
