Game Day vs St Kilda

Thought it was a pretty fair effort today. Not too bad a loss when the circumstances are taken into account.
Going to be lots of ups and downs playing a host of inexperienced players.
Reckon there is plenty of upside for Yze to work with.

I think Ryan would have been a better option with that extra height and have allowed Kosi to stay forward by taking 2nd ruck duties. The Aints' backline just ran it out easily all day long.
I don't think I have ever seen a less effective FL. Nothing but Shai, when he wasn't on ball, with a bit of help from MRJ. No-one else had much impact at all apart from occasional possessions that mostly were ineffective.
With Ryan in the side sadly they would have run it out even easier.

I'd look at Coulthard in Sonsies position. Cumbo for Kosi. Mcauliffe can take Graham's spot as well

Cumbo for Lefau and Ryan for Kosi for me. Need blokes with more long term upside getting games even if they aren't on fire at VFL level.
I’d rather Naismith for Lefau and Cumbo or Coulthard for Mansell

Sonsie might’ve missed the boat. The game too quick for him. Onballer or bust

Kudos to the Daints
How Cumberland can't get a game has me fked.
We are playing blokes that aren't AFL standard.
I'm sorry but smalls need to hit the scoreboard.
Mansell Campbell & Rioli aren't doing it
Nah Rioli kicked 2 and was solid.

Our first half was very good. The 3rd qtr really dropped off and last we outworked them but too many hack kicks which saints easily marked.
Of course, if lynch and balta play we easily win. Saints are not that much chop.

Yze made some blunders playing lefau and kosi. Id rather Cumberland who is a natural footballer. Quick and strong and leads to the right spots.
Mansell is just an average footballer. He might have a few good games here and there but overall he's nothing to write home about.
Naismith would've been better than kosi. He is worse than i thought. He just doesnt have enough urgency and hurt factor in his game

Worst way to lose a game is when you've got a good lead, but who cares now, sift out the sh!t and get the draft picks.

If we are undersized we need to go full Midget Attack and get speed speed speed on the park.

I think that first quarter flattered us. Everything that could have gone right, pretty much did.

But it was never going to stand up for 4 quarters, and in the end, it was a lack of composure across the ground that did for us. Too many volleyball taps, overhead backwards handballs, scrubbed toe pokes, blind helicopter kicks, and general overuse under pressure. Unfair to single anyone out, they were all doing it.

On the upside, Browne looks great, Miller is maturing as a genuine KPD, and MRJ brought the impact without the howlers.

Good learning experience for the kids.

Browne excellent. Bolton unbelievable; one of the best games I've seen him play. Dusty not vintage Dusty but still pretty good; kicking has gone off though. Nank a huge game. Maurice very good again.
All of that - and Daniel Rioli. Wow!

pretty funny the Saints get the last 8 free kicks and we get 2 score reviews ....

I dunno, the frees were there and the reviews were legit.

Butler’s holding the ball miss was unlucky for us, but they get missed a million times every week.

Actually thought the umps were ok today.

Thought on the whole the kids played ok, although Sonsie looked off the pace (I don't think he's a forward, midfield or bust). We were mostly let down by the senior players more, and no big forwards is death if we're going to insist Short bomb it in high every time

wasn't complaining - just thought it was pretty funny - rub o the green and all that ...

With another five games unto each of the <20 game players the team goes on to win that game comfortably.
Tired decision-making and lack of maturity in the attacking third cost us today.

Coulthard has been good at VFL level & is certainly AFL quality.

Cumberland is an enigma - huge talent (we don’t have many that have kicked 5 in an AFL game playing seconds) but looks like it’s all about himself. Hate the way he exaggerates injury.

Even last week at VFL level - hard to know if he was truly injured or not. Like the boy who cried wolf.
