Game day v #lolNorf

What do you mean by shafted? Losing the free kick count?
yeah, explain why we beat a side by 53 points but lost the free kick count 11-18? Why we more often than not lose the free kick count even when we win when traditionally the winning side more often than not w8ns the free kick count?

Were we that good or were they that bad? --- A little from column A and a little from column B.

A much better performance and a good solid win.

Some very good signs from:
Bolton in the middle, he is great there.
Balta seems to have learned well and is developing into a very good defender. Has to stay in when Astbury comes back.
Egg played well tonight, good disposal seemed to be able to find some space.
Chol was good and seemed to be on most of the night which is a great sign.
Pickett was a bit more involved, still some way to go but definitely an improvement.

The usual suspects: Vlas, Grimes, Lambert to some extent, McIntosh etc did their thing.

Rioli still down but I reckon a better effort tonight. I saw him running around more and making some impact, he can be a lot better, but he has been a lot worse recently.

Caddy will be quite a loss, it didn't look good.

On to GWS, I figure they will be fired up for our game given what happened, and the context, last time we played them.

Not sure there should be any connection between the scoreboard and the free kick count?

I'm also not sure about the winning team winning the counts, are there stats that support it? I would have thought there's logic that when you win you are first to the ball etc but maybe that leads to more frees against as well? Looking at this round and last round it seems more losing teams win the count.
Pfft, worst explanation ever.

That was weirdly satisfying. Always love beating Norf. Repairs the memories of Carey ripping us apart on cold cold Friday night game.
Though missed the satisfaction of returning the compliment to Some of the most obnoxious fans in the league.

Since 2010 the winning team has had more frees 49% of the time, and equal frees another 7%.

The winning team gets 10+ more frees 35% more often than 10+ less frees, if that makes sense.

Didn't think they were bad tonight except maybe the second quarter. They could be looking after Dusty and Tom a bit better.

Defence, exceptional
Midfield, good
Forwards, vomit

51 inside 50's for 11 goals.
6 basic shots missed, Jack1, lynch1, Arts3, Castagna2.

Eggy, Big V, Grimes, Bolton very very good.
McIntosh, Higgins, Jack, Short and Rioli very poor.

It should've been a 70+ point win.
North weren't even chasing in huge parts of qtrs.

Not sure what we have done to the umpires, but we absolutly got smashed again.

Happy with the win, but looking at the ladder we have beaten 17th, 16th & 15th in the last 3 weeks.

Damn Zips. That last sentence was sobering.

Good to see Jack getting his hands on it a bit in the second half slowly working his way back.

Ive heard that all year.
He is miles off the pace.
If he was a horse, i would give a spell to spring time

Loved Broad's game tonight.

Highlight - When Clownshoes tried to bump him over the boundary line Broad saw him coming and threw him into the gutter.

Was a bit grumpy out there tonight Broady.

Had a few Kangaroos on the ground tonight.

But that was amusing re Sideshow.

Geez North should sack the Doctor.
First it was Cunnington's return and then tonight, Ziebel lasted a full 8 minutes.
The club should merge.
A car crash of football club.
Rhys Shaw is another coach to graduate from CODC.
(College of doodus coaches).

A win is a win is a win.

Still can’t get a read on our form given I have never seen lol play so badly and don‘t you love beating lol as they have had the wood over us for so long now.

Best thing about the tigers so far (which is the same as last year) is that it’s the new players that are giving us the spark - we have serious depth.

To have played so badly this year, to have so many injuries, and to be fourth on the ladder - just unreal.

And one last point - breakout season for Bolton as he becomes an elite game winning midfield at 21 years of age.
