Game Day Tiges v Port

We are definitely exposed in the backline against a tall opposition.

Need Astbury back to deal with a gorilla.

yep getting Astbury back by the Geelong and West Coast games would be timely

Sick of hearing if only they'd kick straighter, they forgot 2 goals pulled from you know where by dixon & ladhams

You have to admit though they missed some absolute sitters. Was really at least a 6 or 7 goal win if you took averages into account. Put simply you're never going to win a game of footy with 24 inside 50s (to 55).

Just cop it on the chin.
We can't win every week.
No excuses.
The final margin flattered us as I thought that Port were all over us for most of the game.
Fagan would have looked at the stats and said that's a 10 goal win to Port.

That's just about as good as they can play other than maybe a bit better goal kicking. Some of big Charlie's shots at goal (I think of him as an angry Levi Casboult). Egg got beaten. George unsighted. Lambert was very quiet, but he'll bounce right back.

We got done on their home ground, their crowd, umpires were sh!t, and we were still well in it till Caddy's daydream.

We've got 4 - 6 of our best 22 to come back. Cotch, Houli, DTLD, Nank, Prestia and (maybe) Edwards.
We'll play finals on our (new) home ground. Haven't lost there since Adam was a boy.
I agree with most of this...but are finals definitely in Qld? If Port finish top 2 don’t they get their first two finals at home at Adelaide oval or has it all ready been decided that they will have to play in qld? If they get two home finals I reckon they will be hard to beat...especially if they are allowed to have 60000 lunatics in attendance. I think our full strength team are the only ones who can beat them at their home ground come finals time.

The Port midfield played a very hard committed game and we simply didn't have enough contributors to stay with them for four quarters. We did well to still be in front at three quarter time. Stack, Pickett and Lambo combined for 21 possessions and Caddy wasn't much better. We can't compete with the other top teams without at least one if not two of Cotch, Prestia and Edwards in to help Dusty and Shai.

Probably only Cotch for the next few weeks Shane maybe wont be back at all. Dion is not coming along as quick as hoped with his syndesmosis. Nank is further advanced in rehab than Dion which in itself is good.

Funny don't recall McChins, Derwayne and their mates commenting on the obvious stage by the Port player  . Don't recall anything about in papers or online today:rolleyes:. Anyone calling for Wood Duck to be fined for staging??

If that was Grimes it would back page news and they'd be talking about it all week long on the myriad of *smile* so called football shows on TV.
