Game Day - Tiges v Deez Round 20, 2023

NO, prime movers and your Superstars are most likely to win games in the last quarter of BIG Important games that are close.
Don't agree. The whole team needs to be invested. Without Dusty and Bolton there would have been no close last quarter game. Dusty is 32yo. He shouldn't be relied on as our prime mover, he is past his best. Bolton actually did get a bit of the ball in the last. Dusty played mostly forward, it hardly reached there. Our prime mover midfielders are Taranto & Hopper. They've been given big 7 year deals. So why single out 2 of our best players in the game?

Tigers got belted by Melksham and Petty FFS.

Thats horrendous.

That Melksham campaigner always has a day out against the Tigers and as for Petty the big Mouth Sook Merchant FMD..........................................

Totally agree with you TLove on that first highlighted sentence, but where I believe we are differing is about the fact that I just wish Dusty and Shai would've been moved onto the ball earlier seeing as the ball wasn't getting into our scoring area at all, who knows, they may NOT have altered that at all, but what I am saying is I'd at least give our guns that opportunity to put their stamp on the game in the LAST Q.

And absolutely Taranto and Hopper should have been much more influence in the last Q also, no excuses for them whatsoever from me.

Yep, they're Tiger legends, and WERE star players. They're not stars anymore.

Most weeks we seem to save our best for the last quarter but this week we had nothing. Not sure whether it was fitness, game plan, desire or interest. Maybe a combination of all but hope to see an improvement next week

The best 20 grand Essendon ever spent was in the fine James Hird copped for getting stuck into the umpires (McLaren?) on The Footy Show. They got looked after for years after that.
Probably cost Hird a second Brownlow, but it does seem to have gotten them better treated since.

Yet he was given another contract for next year? Is the club really across where we are at? Grimes has a had a poor year and looks done but we give him another year?
I'm not saying this is what has happened, but sometimes they'll give a guy an extension, to offset a pay cut now. They re-jig some salaries, voila. Little war chest for a free agent.

I'm going that's what has happened, because his form at the time wasn't worthy of an extension. Our back 6 have been good this year overall, but...I agree. Is Grimes going to take the spot of a young fella next year?

The interesting thing about Young’s game today is that it was probably the best he has played offensively and the worst he has played defensively .

It was so disappointing to see good players play so poorly.
The good times are over now for a while, and how great they were.

Bauer, Sambo, Jud, and Cumberland all in its time to change things up and start playing for the future. Coulthard plays every game for the rest of the season also.

Might not get a chance to get some games into Seth but it might be better for Seth and the Gibbus to concentrate on hitting preseason ready to go.
