GAME DAY THREAD - TIGES V POWER

Hardwick asked about the Gray rushed point: “It is what it is.”
About the umpires: “It’s a hard job. They do their best.” Huge grin.

Rozee? Injured. Again. Unable to walk with severe cork. Hinkley insists he plays through. (Note Rozee doesn’t miss and out-sprints Dylan Grimes at a critical stage.)

Butters? Injured. Hinkley insists he plays through. Changes mind halfway through Q4. When subbing he brings on the static Mayes who is unsuited to substitute roles IMHO. “I don’t want to abuse the medical sub.” Pure obfuscation. Hinkley wanted to win. And then?

Duursma? Injured. Taken off after being maimed late in Q4.

Hinkley coached as Hinkley coaches. To win now. Not to win later. Not to win premierships. He has a commanding record against reigning premiers in the season proper and it’s added to zilch. Four points in round four? Myopia reigns supreme for now at Port Adelaide. If Hinkley grows? They’re a serious contender. If not? Their big wins are in the season proper, not in September.

Anyone reckon Grimes is playing hurt? Just hasn't looked himself for a few weeks now

The umpiring was bad....but look at all the key stat's we were soundly beaten tonight...other than 15 min period in the 1st and a good chunk of the 3rd we did look ourselves, otherwise they were well on top for the rest of the game. Really disappointed with tonight.

Dimma nailed it.

The football played early in the season is different to that played during the middle and the end of the season.

Teams can't sustain the football that's being played now for the whole season and eventually we'll mow them down.

Good question. Umps so inconsistent with incorrect disposal. Reckon I counted atleast 10 tackles were PA players did not dispose of the ball correctly. And then Houli gets paid holding the ball when he marked it. Umps never ever pay holding the ball when ball was touched and player marks and didn't know.

The Houli decision was so bad it made me shake my head in disbelief. Given the standard of umpiring these days, I actually can't remember the last time I did that. Atrocious.

But then to out do themselves, how did the Umpire not pay a 50 when Georgiades went over the mark. How clear a decision was that. Has to be the easiest rule to apply now, you cannot move when you are on the mark. And they still missed it!!!!

That's bc the oppn is in Yellow & Black.

Sick to death of whats been dished up against us for over 4 yrs now. Its pathetic and bordering on cheating - glad so many of you called it out for what it is.

Was it 2019 we lost 4 in a row early? 3 by less than a goal. No need to panic guys.

Pfft. Dimma!
What's that guy know about football?

Decision making and execution was poor but we were in it till the end and one free kick away from victory!
Yes, and Lambert, Graham and JR all missed very gettable shots late too. Of course, Poort kicked like drunken donkeys but that's true to form for them.

Plus it would really assist if our highly-paid KPF could actually get a couple on line from his very limited possessions. The fact that our attack still relies most heavily on Jack, who is clearly showing that he is 32 or whatever, is a real concern for me.

Have to say too, if you look at how dangerous, explosive and opportunist Papley is (as the best SF going around IMHO), our two guys just don't measure up as top grade i.e. Aarts and JC.

How do we reconcile the deliberate rushed behind non-decision with the deliberate out of bounds given against Balta while being tackled and trying to handpass over his shoulder while being slung?
