Game Day - Richmond v Geelong Preliminary Final

Didn't realise this , I know each quarter is 20mins plus time-on but if each quarter was 1 minute shorter Geelong would have kicked 3 less goals. They kicked 1 in 1st with less than a minute to go and 1 in 2nd and 3rd with 30 seconds to go. Really when you analyse deeply we were dominant.

PS the rain we were expecting originally last night is now coming down with force.

Wonder who it favours.
Both are slick with their kicking & marking skills in the dry but they are not so good in the wet.

We have touched our both of them in the wet.

That may well be the case, Coburg. We all get frustrated at times. But at least you had the good sense and civility to keep those thoughts to yourself. That is a mark of the individual.
There is just no need for people to personally attack others in such hateful ways and dump their vitriol on others.

Not all of us!!

The culture within the club has finally been purged of mediocrity and changed to that of a successful club.

The "Richmond "Way" and Richmond "Man" are not just terms thrown around its now the underlying fabric of the club and players have bought in to it.

All new players to the club are indoctrinated into it.

It's this type of culture that the Swans had and the Hawks and the Cats when on top for al those years.

Wins like that create an aura about the club, an aura that the great teams like the lions, cats and hawks had. Serious intimidation factor.

Had a look at west coast forum last night they were wanting the Cats to win even after they knocked them out made no sense to me.

Even others going for Collingwood dead set it's bizarrro world stuff.

I was not particularly convinced by our form last year, but, we kept winning games so thought we would be ok.

I am seeing far more exciting footy from Richmond this year so hoping we can get past Geelong and into the Grand Final.

Spot on Lee. I was at that game. One of worst displays of umpiring in the history of the game. Allison staged all night. Free kicks were 11-12 in North’s favour at 3/4 time. At the end of the game it was 11-22 I was with my best mate who’s a North supporter. He was pissing himself laughing at the armchair ride they got and we only lost by a small margin.

Stagerfield’s dive last night was every bit as bad as Allison’s. I still can not believe not one commentator made any remark about it.

All he said was in the back. He didn't name a player to receive the free. I couldn't even see him point which way. Then he blew the whistle twice in quick succession and paid a 50 to Dangerfield. To me it was blatant cheating. He knew everyone was confused. 30 seconds to go on the clock as well.

That's the thing, even at the ground when they showed the replay you could see he hadn't signalled the direction of the free. It was poor umpiring, he wasn't quick enough or clear enough with his instruction and then paid 50 for his stuff up.

That’s what I thought initially watching it live.

Hope he doesn’t get the GF but the AFL loves him and he carries a mirror on the ground.

Richmond is now a club that embraces all people and beliefs.

I would imagine that includes the supporters who wear their heart on their sleeves, and ride the bumps with the schizophrenic passion that forms an important part of the Richmond supporter spectrum.

I might not have posted anything at half time yesterday, but if there were a live stream of my inner monologue it would make the posts here seem like excerpts from sesame Street.
