Game Day - Richmond v Geelong Preliminary Final

What a prelim.

Our players have character in spades. To whether the storm, and make no mistake I reckon the cats were primed and desperate and playing well.

I was strangely calm all day and even at half time we were still in the game even though we were being easily outplayed - the danger dive made it look worse than it was.

We are in the big dance again - it’s a good life being a tiger at the moment.

Lol people should read blobbo in the HS.

He so clearly had a loss piece ready to go on how we choked, but then had an editor run a pass inserting “but they didn’t”.

The piece is truly bizarre. 95% is about how **** we were in the first half.

Then it abruptly ends.

What a terrible, terrible journalist.

Have you tried writing when drunk?
Bloody hard to concentrate when you can’t see the keyboard.

Celebrated too hard too early.
Sticky fingers, sticky keyboard

It was a weird article.

It was Geelong who choked, not the tigers but I guess he couldn’t see that, just as he couldn’t see the danger dive.

yep, nuffers like he and KK need to be called out for their atrocious negativity.

Richmond is now a club that embraces all people and beliefs.

I would imagine that includes the supporters who wear their heart on their sleeves, and ride the bumps with the schizophrenic passion that forms an important part of the Richmond supporter spectrum.

I might not have posted anything at half time yesterday, but if there were a live stream of my inner monologue it would make the posts here seem like excerpts from sesame Street.

Geez I tell you what, reviewing that 2nd half, it was total domination by the Tigers. We had something like 18 inside 50s in the 1st half but ended up with 56. Massive turnaround. 16 scoring shots to 6. And that was despite injuries to Dusty, Cotch, Broad (concussed) and Graham. Hawkins has a lot to answer for his brain fade indiscretion. Henderson was useless. Ratugolea not much better.

Less disposals (22), marks (11), clearances (6), contested (20) AGAIN yet we win comfortably. We're are immensely unique.

Cotch smashing Selwood at the first bounce in Q4 got the lads going I reckon.

Kelly was very good for the condiments. And only a second year player too.

Kelly was by far their most destructive 4 quarter player. We didn't want to go near him. Genuinely sorry to see him leave Geelong.

My heart was in my mouth for that tackle.
Thought it was going to be another soft free to Selwood.

Not quite. Our turn around was when we rid ourselves of those that concentrated on what was wrong with everything. Choko the prime example.

The club is where it is because it focuses on the positive and not the negative.

In summary, it's the Brightsiders who turned the club into what it is today. The Darksiders have been banished.

That may well be the case, Coburg. We all get frustrated at times. But at least you had the good sense and civility to keep those thoughts to yourself. That is a mark of the individual.
There is just no need for people to personally attack others in such hateful ways and dump their vitriol on others.
Interesting that I should call out a couple of posters for their banal and spiteful postings and they in turn decide to respond with foul and abusive messages into my mail box.
Says much about those persons.

Ironic, considering your avatar.

Not all of us!! ;)

The culture within the club has finally been purged of mediocrity and changed to that of a successful club.

The "Richmond "Way" and Richmond "Man" are not just terms thrown around its now the underlying fabric of the club and players have bought in to it.

All new players to the club are indoctrinated into it.

It's this type of culture that the Swans had and the Hawks and the Cats when on top for al those years.

Fair enough. Probably easier to just ignore than start the 'us vs them call out and apologise' flame war.
