GAME DAY – R14 Tiges v Blues

They have it listed as a knuckle injury on the AFL website
I saw him grab it very early in the game and wondered if he'd dislocated it. He beat McKay pointless for three quarters. Sometimes you can't stop a good full-forward from getting on the end of a few. The last one (that McKay missed) I thought a couple of teammates were at fault for not getting in front of McKay.

The games when Jayden dominated through the middle he was hitting up a lot of shorter kicks.

His long kicking is often just blind dump kicks around corners or misdirected bombs that often end up in the hands of the Opposition.
He just loves bombing it long and gaining metres, most times tonight to our detriment. His stats, including metres gained looked impressive but far too many terrible long kicks to carlscums advantage.

'Sometimes' seems to happen a lot to Tarrant late in games.

Before being dropped, sorry, rested, earlier in the year he'd had more goals kicked on him than any key back. I reckon he's still up there.

It's academic anyway. He'll be required til Balta is fit, at the very least.

Was that our first game this year without a 50m against? Bit different to rd 1. And we had 1 30m for.

Be good when Gibcus has the confidence to go for the mark rather than punch the ball to the opposition...cost us two goals. Wet ball didn't help him.
Wasnt a night for any Backmen taking chances, more than happy for him to use the fist all night long when its wet. Broad, Grimes, Flossie and even Tarrant ALL were going the big fist, unfortunately we could have used a few more stay down at ground level on a few occasions because for 95% of the night, that's where the ball was.

He had countless chances to hit up teammates but ge touched them.
He had a very ordinary night.
He shouldve let Lambert have the set shot too.

*smile* Thursday night mid winter. *smile* off AFL you pricks. The time slot has cost us 25-30k that would have turned up if it was scheduled as a Friday night or Saturday arvo/night game as it should have been..

*smile* idiots.
Sarah Jones reckons it was a great crowd.

How good has the last 2 weeks been.
When the pricks haven't influenced the result.
They still made mistakes but they didn't bend us over on dangerous tackles or moving on the 50.
I thought they were OK tonight

A win's a win but Blues had no backline. 76 inside 50s. Forward line is an area we can vastly improve.
Oh no doubt, there are still many area's we need to improve upon to worry the top teams, but we are a little closer than I actually thought we'd be if Im being honest with myself. Those figures just show HOW important those fast-small-pressure-applying small forwards are, no way should you only be having 26 SCORING SHOTS from 76 inside 50's, thats just ridiculous.

Good effort to hang on in the end. They were coming hard at us and we weathered the storm. The ARC helped us but it was touched so no one can complain about that.

But geez we make hard work of it. We just can’t put teams away. Happens every game. We get 5 goals in front and immediately the opposition storms back. We’ve gotta do something about it. Percentage is always important and could be the difference between a top 4 spot or even a top 8 spot. We’ve gotta start putting teams away when they are on the ropes. Also gotta get more reward for effort from our inside 50 dominance. We leave too many goals on the table and let the ball just waltz out of the forward line too easily.

I’m still not convinced where going that well. With the players Carlton had out; especially the backline, we just had to win that game. We got an almighty scare but got the win.

Next week will tell us a lot. We won’t get away with being so wasteful and haphazard against Geelong.
