GAME DAY !!!! Premiers v Pensioners

People are forgetting Dimma has lost a lot of assistants too. Leppa is a huge loss. Dimma had no answers tonight.

Shithouse night. Going to finish these beers and have a listen to my new favourite band Alestorm.

Really?

We've got the easiest draw in the competition from this point on and 4 or 5 blue chip players to come back, plus Vlastuin underdone.

We've got work to do but we've been here before and know how to time a run.

And we've got MRJ to inject.
Yeh we were just unlucky tonight.

Thought we looked off from the first bounce. Even in Q1 we were fumbly and lacking zest. We didn’t want it enough, pure and simple. The constant grind is wearing.

4-4 and we’re locked in a weekly battle for survival, which I’m sure Dimma doesn’t particularly want. But he also knows we’re slowly building up steam for a finals run.

We know if we bring the effort we can beat anyone. The problem is we are being hunted every week.

We will beat GWS next round and probably lose to the Bears. 5-5. That’s where things loosen a bit and we can get on the right side of the ledger. With Prestia, Lambert and Grimes to return.

I have us at 7-5 at the bye and 16-6 at the end of the season.

I'm in your boat, Carts
But reckon the scoreline might be more like 14-8 or 15-7.
Not that fussed where the Tigers finish in the eight because I believe the team can win it from any position, come September.
This season may just seem like a bit more of a grind than the other years. But the players will get to the premiership dais again.

Dimm has to go full Malcom Blight and give these losers a spray.
I did it many years ago when I was coach. Half time we were 10 goals down.
Took the players over to the boundary so everyone could hear and ripped into each player. Gave out some classics
“I bet if that was a meat pie you would have marked it you fat *smile*!”
“Your mother should have swallowed instead of opening her legs. One less problem for me today”
“You are more useless then tits on a bull you dopey bastard!”

team went out and we won that game by 4 goals.
Unfortunately I never coached the under 10’s again.
Now thats what we need more of ........ very very good 7 ... :rotfl2 You'd get 10 years in solitary for that these days and be labelled with a sex offender title to boot.

I thought the Baker one was pretty straightforward, ball spilled out of Geelong hands in tackle, he went down and when it was out and he could have knocked it forward, he pulled it under.

Actually no, I saw that one at the ground and then replayed on the board. The ball spilt, Baker went for the ball and the Geelong player shoved it under Baker and then appealed for the free.

I can't believe how quickly people turn, the scars of the last three decades run deep.

Here's the teams we play in Melbourne from here out:

GWS
Adelaide
Essendon
St Kilda
Collingwood
Brisbane
Geelong
North

There's a minimum of 7 wins in that and I'm liking another shot at Geelong deep in the year as an 8th.

Interstate we have:
Brisbane
West Coast
Gold Coast
Freo
GWS

We should be looking to win at least 3 of those, which already takes us to 14 and right on the edge of the top four, with shots against Brisbane, West Coast and Geelong up our sleeve.

And can I just repeat we are starting of the worst preparation any team in the competition has ever had!
When does the impact of the worst preparation ever evaporate BR?

The concern for me is we’ve had “just one of those games” 3 times in the first 8 games of the season; all at what used to be our fortress and all against current top 4 sides.

We have had too many unRichmond like performances this year. Plus our 4-4 record is the worst we’ve had after 8 games in any recent season. We’re off the boil more so than any of the past two seasons; it’s early days but I reckon we are well away from where we’d want to be..
There's always reason for concern when the team shows a lack of willingness to compete as happened after Q time, no doubt, a few basic mistakes and we certainly dropped the bundle and looked terrible in doing so.

But the one thing this group has shown me over the last 4 years is a steely resilence to comeback from the brink and do the almost impossible and for that they desreve the right for us to keep the faith until it runs its course, which we all know it will one day, but right now I'm backing this group still has what it takes to give the '21 Premiership one hell of a shake and put itself right in the argument as one of the Greatest Teams in the history of the Game.

Can anyone explain why Mansell didn’t get a free for head high contact by Selwood? It was a fair way from where I was sitting and on the wrong side but the replays seemed pretty clear that Cheatwood got him high.

Or is just that he’s a Richmond player and the heads of Richmond players are not sacrosanct? Or that the umpires dare not pay frees against Cheatwood?
