Game Day - Geelong V Richmond

I don't buy the game in our keeping thing. We were out on our feet, rolling the dice and hoping for the best. A lot had to go right, and not everything did.

17 points up in the last qtr is a game in our keeping imo snake.

Its disappointing but we should win from there. Not underselling the effort to get to that point, it was mighty.

I think it’s just having lost several games from that position this year that’s the most frustrating

The other frustration is how dumb we are. Two players on their own fumbled and lost the ball and then Nank soccers it to a Geelong player.

Was a Q4 of clutch moments & opportunities & we didn’t take ours. Courageous fight back but doesn’t count for much if you don’t win. Missed too many targets & made bad play choices which hurt us.

Ironically Prestia getting taken out off the ball, gave us two rucks again & from there we righted the clearance imbalance. Still think we’re good enough to win this at full strength plus replace some of the kids with blokes like Stack (games like that need class & very few 18-year-olds are ready).

I respectfully disagree. 17 points is nothing with over half a quarter left, and out of gas, and playing a top side, and getting reamed by the umps.

It's impossible to watch.
To go unrewarded when your made 10-15 tackles in your front half and none are paid.
If they followed the letter of the law, 'Try to get the ball out' I lost count how many times Geelong players just laid flat on the ball, Atkins, Blivas, Close, Selwood.
Your not winning free kicks if they just ignore those ones.
Rioli was out on his feet in the last qtr his leg weren't doing what he wanted them to do.
we relied on the 2 players we don't want kicking inside 50.
Pickett shouldve kicked to the square, Broad shouldve went short.
We made some basic errors that cost us.
Where's the knees from our defenders,Henry shouldve been on a stretcher. You don't let a player mark the ball coming into the pack.

Great comeback. When we’re switched on we can beat anyone - umpires not withstanding.

I hope Dimma talks about the umpires & says something like "the commonsense rule was applied a few weeks ago, why not tonight, we had a player in absolute distress & The game wasn't stopped. NOT GOOD ENOUGH "

Our first year players are finding the slugfest mid season games very tough.
If we had the cattle to replace them, I’d rest Gibcus, MRJ, Ralphsmith and Clarke.
All had moments but really contributed very little.
Gibcus in particular looks cooked.
Unfortunately we don’t although I still maintain Stack should be in there somewhere.

Of course the courageous fightback counts. Would you rather we'd folded and got flogged? Losing sucks, but how you lose matters.

We do have the Eagles at home.....
Yeah but the Covids will have a crack next week I reckon,. and do have the players to make more of a game of it than what the Kangas will do against them.

We need to bash the Eagles again and bash the Kangas and the Hawks and Drugs again when we play them.

Then we need to bash Stewart next time we play the Salties

agree, especially on Gibcus. Just looked cooked most of the game. Ralph stays for me.

Think it was Soldo.
Turned the game as we had total control of the ball and he kicks it off the ground straight to the sniper. They ran it to the other end for an easy goal

There's a couple of pussies running round now that we need to square up with. Wish it was still the 80's.
