Not Brad Scott. :p
I remember Mick allowing his assssistants to coach the Pies in NAB cup games at the start of the year and Scott was found wanting as a coach.

Couldn't agree more.

Not too sure on his recent coaching history and while he was a fine (tough) footballer, I strongly question some of his other attributes.

if true whats the matter with this club, collingwood didnt allow buckley to come to rfc but they prepared to throw us scott and neeld, getting them as senior coach will bring the club to its knees. brad scott and mark neeld would be worst then the gesh.

Brad Scott
Assistant Coach
(Midfield) Notched 168 games over a fine nine-season career, and was a member of two Brisbane premierships (2001 and 2002), before joining the Magpies in 2007 shortly after retiring. After one season as development coach, Scott moved into an assistant coaching role with his main responsibility analysing the opposition.

For the 2009 season, his role has developed further and will focus his coaching duties on the midfield.

AFL playing career: Hawthorn 1997, Brisbane 1998-2006, 168 games, 45 goals
AFL coaching career: Collingwood development coach 2007, Collingwood assistant 2008-

Not much in his coaching career. I suppose 3 Brisbane Lions flags could be a good experience.

Played under Matthews, coached Under Malthouse, don't get much better exposure than that when you combine with it with playing in a couple of Premiership as well. Not to mention he has that hard man tag to go with it.

Have no idea what he would be like tactically or management wise, but lets hope that is what the process will tell them.

Must admit would be very happy with either Scott, Hardwick or Hinkley.

Hardly much to go by. He would be coaching in accordance with the club philosophy and we all know they treat the NAB cup as nothing more than glorified practice matches and testing grounds for youth.

re: King being bitter

If you lined up Hardwick (Hawthorn Assistant) & King (Richmond Assistant) - If you judged them on nothing more than their assistant roles ... Who would you choose?

I think King's comments are fair and not borne from bitterness at all.

Not sure if you heard his interviews the Saturday Jade was appointed (when he basically said he would now not apply for the RFC job), or the one just this week.

The first one it was clear he was gutted. He expected to be made caretaker, and was very emotional in his voice. The fact he was applying Friday but not Saturday is too big a co-incidence for me. He didn't get the caretaker gig, and IMO cracked it.

This week it was more his defeatist attitude. Had no tone of fight or determination in him at all. TBH if we were looking for an assistant I would not want him now.

I don't know if his comments are bitter, but he is making excuses and bagging his current employer. Not qualities you would look for in a future coach. He can think what he likes, but you will be judged on what you say and your actions.

Not professional.

Fair enough guys, understand where you're coming from.

Just as well all know, Richmond hasn't been super successful over the last 5 years, and to my mind, the assistant coaches bear some repsonibility in that. I really took it as a statement of fact rather than any bagging of the club.

I'd just like to highlight another reason to love Richo

During Craig "Ambulance Chaser" Hutchison's footy show segment on the street outside the Hinkley 2nd round interview

Richo - Craig, Richo here, just wanted to say I hope it's cold out there

Richo was spot on!

What did people think of Robertson's parting speech to his teammates on the footy show last night?

I was surprised to hear this morning on SEN that they got a lot of divided opinions on it, some feeling it was contrived.

I agree with Watson, footy is a emotional game and it is a big part of what makes it so great.

I was moved myself and thought he made a real good impact with some extremely well made points and reality checks.

I was very impressed myself. It was just highlights but I thought what we heard was fantastic and a great departing speech that should be of benefit to some of the kids.

I only watched the first 30 secs.

For me, the fact he is going into the draft next year does make it a tad overcooked. He's leaving the club, not the game, so I'm not sure what all the talk about missing footy was about.

The speech was more fitting for a retirement

I was moved but could have done without the heart pulling music that 9 added.

Robertson is a selfish, showboating player. If he gets picked up by any other team (which I am pretty sure he won't), then surely Joel Bowden could go around again. I also don't think that the bloke has ever said a sincere word in his career.

Dang... that is way harsh doood!

I always found Robbo to come across as a pretty down to earth kinda guy who liked a laugh.
