Footy media , love’m or hate’ m ?

Eddie says it’s a good idea because it’ll give the teams outside the 8 to stay in the finals hunt longer.
Just another one of Eddie's open mouthed brain farts.
I'm pretty sure that most years the teams just outside the 8, like from 8 to 12 are still in the finals hunt until such time as it becomes mathematically impossible. Which is usually during the last two or three rounds of the home and away games.
The teams that drop out of the finals hunt early and have to keep fronting up regardless of how *smile* they are. Are the spuds down the bottom of the ladder fighting for the early draft picks.
Instead of further extending an already long season by having an extra couple of knock out games to see which mediocre teams get to be finals easy meat. Shorten the season and reduce the finalists to the top six and make the game and flag a more elite chase. Bugger the constant dilution of the game and the insistence of rewarding mediocrity by creating a final ten scenario in an eighteen team comp.
Nothing more than humping the cash cow even harder n hoping a few more shekels pop out.

You know what? Just f**k off the whole home and away season and just play a knockout draw like the old Fosters Cup.

The only reason the NBA implemented the play in tournament was to curb all the tanking that was going on by teams outside of he playoff hunt. The NBA has way more teams and an 82 game season. Makes no sense in the AFL.

So let’s think this through if they bring in this play off game/s. When will it be played? Will it be during the prefinals bye When all teams in the finals will be having a rest? If so, wouldn’t that be putting the playoff teams at a further disadvantage by not having a break? If not then, will there be a further break, thereby putting teams already in the finals at a disadvantage by having 2 weeks off before finals.

Wildcard playoff games the Thurs, Fri and Sat of pre finals bye. Draft playoffs have the Sunday slots

Amazing that Media haven't picked up Longmire hypocrisy re Rampe hit off ball. Didn't he want send off rule where concussed player is concerned? Horse reckons Rampe collision causing concussion was an accident. About 80 metres off ball. He should be held to account after his comment after Nankervis hit.
Longmire is a goose.

So on top of those teams playing an extra game, they don’t get a rest before the finals compared to the teams that already qualified, putting them at a further disadvantage ( on top of not being good enough to make the 8 in the first place). What’s the point? $$$$$$$$

Yep, and at least their "wildcard" play offs arent like the rest of the play offs-- 7 v8 winner through. 9 v 10 loser out then loser of 7 v8 plays winner of 9 v10. - they are 1 off games- their finals are best of 7.
MLB have had various wildcard systems- but each have had a point of getting even teams into play offs- and again have had a different format from the regular play offs.

I can only assume any AFL wildcard would be like the current VFL system where it really is just a couple of elimination finals between teams 7-10.
Within a couple of years any stats would be included as finals.

Just saw a headline “ Harley Reid would prefer to stay in Victoria “ no *smile* , of course the kid would rather stay close to his family and friends , but let’s turn into some big draft tampering quest you low life click bait attention seeking scum . Yes I’m a little emotional knowing my boy Davey will continue to wear the baggy green

To be honest I think this year is a good year for them to push the wildcard round. With the uneven draw, whoever plays WCE and Norf twice have a significant advantage. Making 7th or 8th spot with having played the bunnies twice would be a distinct advantage. If 9th and 10th missed by a game or % but only played the bunnies once, Wildcard would be a chance to even things up a tad.

Still not a fan though.

Only because we're outside the 8......AholeFL needs Richmond in the finals.

Haven't watched Footy Classified in years.

Just did it. Never again.

What a truly AWFUL program. Just horrible.

Really unlikeable presenters talking absolute crap.

I make it a point not to watch panel shows of any description, it’s always a lot of talking heads talking over each other in an effort to impress.

FC is one of the best/worst examples of this. It could be subtitled ‘People shouting at each other’.

It's ok but now that Eddie is hosting his version on Wednesday nights its borderline unwatchable.

Not sure why our kids don't copy the WA kids.
The WA clubs make up stories about them,
**They are indiscipline.
**They robbed the milk bar.
**They never attend training sessions
**They are always at nightclubs
**His knee is stuffed

Oh no! Tom Browne has quit ch7! The game will never be the same.
