Footy media , love’m or hate’ m ?

I think he is so angry about it as he downplays in his own mind his love of Geelong. He would consider himself impartial which is is clearly not.

I have had a big laugh about this today.

The next post needs to be of his admiration of Steve Hocking.

Gerard goes whack on Grundy: www.sen.com.au

”Brodie Grundy may well become the first person to be paid by three clubs simultaneously, Gerard Whateley believes.

After last year’s bombshell trade that saw Grundy nudged out of Collingwood, it seems unfathomable that the 29-year-old could find himself at a third club within a year.

But that’s where it sits after Grundy was spectacularly dropped by Simon Goodwin. Contracted until 2027 on nearly $1 million a season – of which Melbourne is paying about $700,000 – Grundy will play a VFL practice game this weekend.

“I see him at a third club next year,” Gerard Whateley told SEN’s Crunch Time.

“He’ll be getting paid by Collingwood, he’ll be getting paid by Melbourne, but he’ll be playing first ruck somewhere else.

“He is Max Gawn… I see a job at Port Adelaide.

“Go and ruck to Zak Butters, Connor Rozee and Jason Horne-Francis. Don’t sit in the forward line when you’re not a forward.”

If Melbourne pays a portion of his salary to clear the remainder off its books, Grundy will be the first player to be paid by three clubs at the same time.

Whateley has previously labelled the Port Adelaide ruck position as “the best job vacancy in footy.” Grundy grew up playing his junior footy for Sturt in South Australia.

“The job application is they need a ruckman to feed these three boys. Give me that job if I’m over 6'8" and have any scrap of ability whatsoever, that’s a pretty good scenario,” Whately said earlier this year.

Grundy’s situation is complicated by his captain’s performance on Friday night.

In his first solo ruck appearance in 2023, Max Gawn was simply superb against Brisbane in playing what is likely the best game a ruckman will this season.

Grundy, meanwhile, has been asked by Melbourne to become a forward, Goodwin revealed on Friday night.

“Part of the plan with Brodie is to expose him at VFL football, they have a practice game tomorrow against St Kilda where he will play purely as a forward and we will continue to assess it like that,” he told reporters and escaping the MCG with victory.

“We think we can turn that combination into a threat moving forward and we are going to work to do it, it doesn’t have to be at AFL level.

“We are still really confident that it will work and as we get closer towards the back end of the year we are going to need both of them up and going.”

Grundy to Port is as obvious as it gets and they could well get him for SFA with 2 other clubs paying his wages.

Poor Wimpy. Talks up his beloved Blooze again along with his Pussies....and just had to add in a 'lucky' Dusty.....FMD.

Still can't get over when Bolts should've been suspended earlier in the season.

Listen to the infatuation. "Blossoming". Bloody hell. Who the hell have Cartoon beaten??? 3 lowly teams and an undermanned Port!!!

Jesus. We're lucky Blobbo wasn't on the match review. Blobbo would have given him the electric chair for that elbow.

Gee, our wonderfully insightful AFL media have finally....finally....twigged to the fact that a 5 year deal at GC might be more attractive for Ken Hinkley v 2 or 3 at Port and its a topic of conversation for them now this week.

As Ross Lyon says "They're quite brilliant."

This wildcard rubbish is doing my head in. Is this Dillon's first mistake?
