Expect Richmond v Carlton to be postponed or the fans locked out

I just find it very strange that this 500+ crowd ban doesn’t come into effect until Monday, yet almost all major events have been immediately cancelled or have locked out the spectators.......but not the NRL, oh no, they must be immune .....can’t wait to see the pics of our PM hugging a frothie while watching his beloved Sharks surrounded by a big crowd.....talk about double standards!,,,

They should have a raffle for ticket holders where 499 supporters get to go to the game.

He's not going now. Not because he's been in direct contact with someone confirmed to have the virus, but because *the media* would *misrepresent it*.

I suppose they had to do this, but looking at the Dept of Health site, there were still only 23 cases in Victoria as of 11am this morning.

Don't fool yourselves, this is not about preventing the spread of the virus (except amongst vulnerable groups), this is about gradual spread of the virus to keep pressure off the health system. Which is fine as it is unlikely we could stop widespread infection and the hospitals will be much better at coping with this if the load is spread.

Still a bummer.

Wonder if the mega-church Scotty from Marketing attends has more than 500 attendees and if it will also have to close. No happy clappies to the sky man this week Scotty.

You say that like it sounds sinister ... when the Danish government announced the lockdown this week, they openly stated that was the aim.
They are trying to avoid the orange graph and going for the green.

I think we should ask Tom Hanks to unfurl our flag to a stadium full of footys with faces painted on them.

Could be the medicinal viral fighting vodkas talking, but I can't stop laughing at that

Good to hear. Best do it against the Chokers the week after, even though we're away. Otherwise we have to wait until R4 - April 11 against the Cows.
Assuming there will be a Round 2 or even a Round 4! It only takes one player to test positive, male or female, for that club to be quarantined and the whole competition shuts down instantly like the NBA. Australia's economy relies on services by people getting out and about so these cancellations will hurt us all. This whole farcical situation should compel all countries to work together for world health by getting rid of the black market trade in exotic animals. Hard to do I know, but this trade throughout Asia has led to this world health crisis and it's only a matter of time before it happens again. WHO have known about this problem for years but what have they done to stop it?

Hmm, didn't mean for this to sound sinister, the virus will not be avoided in such a connected world, but controlling it is important.

Tigermike, yep, we need to seriously do something about the trade in wild animals. Serious issues there. I understand this virus had something to do with Pangolins being sold in markets. I know Pangolins live in Southern Africa, not sure if they also live in Asia, but this sort of thing has to stop.

Unfortunately the trade involves animals from many parts of the world not just those found in Asia. That being the case it is a world-wide crime/health problem not just in Asia. Not sure if these markets exist outside Asia but good chance they do.

Perfect opportunity to play the opening round at Punt Rd.

It will be a lot easier to hear Dusty say “for ***** sake Razor”.

It will intersting to see if they will keep the crowd microphones on because you will hear Jack calling Jones a dud, caddy telling Curnow he has no chance of flking stopping Dusty, and you might even hear the fear the Carlton fowards have when Grimes stands next to them.

A sensible decision from the club to wait until the Tiger Army is present for the flag unfurling

By the looks of it,
We might unfurl it on round 1 2023.

Everything has tried to undermind our premierships.
