Great point.

Those dreamteam stats are bloody damning. I am amazed we play any players with a Dreamteam/Supercoach average of less than 50. It's a fair dinkum joke.

Cotch and Dusty need to lift their games too SC averages of less then 100? It's extremely poor. I hope Dimma confronted Cotch about his 68 SC last week. What about those poor souls who had him as their captain?

:hihi

And how dare Dusty hand pass? Dimma don't you know you get more points for a kick?!

I think the broader point Tigaman is making is that his possession count is down and he is right. I recall when Grimes first played this was his issue as well. He got more proactive as time went by but seems to have reverted back.

My suspicion is that he needs to get confidence back in his body and continuity of footy and then we will see the possessions rise again. It may well take some time.

agree. when he played a string of games in 2012 he was regularly up near 20 possies. last year he showed glimpses of this form but wasnt consistent. this year it has been non-existent.
one thing that has given me a little heart is the intent he has shown a few times with the ball. hopefully with confidence, and a lift from the rest of the team he can start getting more ball again.

Our Dream teams stats for our defence is Houli 89, Petterd 72,Chaplin 69, Newman 66, Vlaustin 64, Astbury 63, Morris 57, Grimes 33. Leaking like a sieve & speaks for itself as to where we are. We go in against the Lions tomorrow with the same except Petterd named up front. Batchelor is on the outer & I rate him better than Grimes.

Dimma keeps talking up stats but when you look at Grimes stats Dimma must skip that page. Herald Sun Dream team stats have his average at 33. The maligned Zac Dawson's average is 48. Grimes is dragging the chain & it is time to stow him away in the cable locker.
I like points for and against, it gives me a good feel for where we are as a group. ::)

Very distressing and disturbing stats.

Astburys 63 DT average is pretty poor.

All he's done is lead the comp in winning all 22 out of 22 one-on-one contests that he's competed in for the year. I wouldn't highlight that stat though, it's pretty meaningless, and not at all impressive.

Hopefully the media is all over the backline, in regards to their DT performances.

Dimma should sit the whole back line down and have a chat to them. Tell them to not worry so much about nullifying their man, and worry more about chasing the ball and racking up high possession numbers.

Run to the forwardline and see if you can scab some goals, it doesn't even matter if you're our FB. It's okay if your opponent kicks 8, if you can pump out a DT scores of 100+ you've kept DT and SC coachers everywhere happy.

It looks like Grimes needs to do more of those 1-2M sideways or backwards handballs to and from a team-mate that build up the useless stats that seem to impress people.

These serial hand-offs actually don't benefit the team much because they slow the forward movement of the ball and basically handicap our confused marking forwards, but that is our game plan and other Richmond players are lauded for racking up these ultimately pointless possessions.

Grimes looks like he is trying to fill some sort of narrow role that the club has laid out for him rather than go out on the ground and simply try to play good football. This is the sort of strategy that has got us playing the "quality" of football we currently see as opposition clubs have derailed our game plan and all the roles within it.

held onto the ball on one occaision when Jack had his man done for all money...all it needed was a halfdecent kick...couldnt manage it and Jack gave him a huge bake which he deserved

This kid is a footballer. He will improve over time and is worth the investment. Super cool and impressive decision making in his early games.

Heh heh heh heh heh.

Can he stay sound? He showed that he'd regained his pace a couple a weeks ago.

Tonight, well down in class, Dylan Grimes got busy again.

Top five for Richmond is he can stay sound. Top ten if he has to fight for sixteen games a year.

Awesome talent.

didnt see the game. to busy being el guapo, but liking some signs. Glimpses. The Artful Dodger:The Grifter:Walnuts.

baby steps. its april.

Was bad last week, but was unseen this week apart from him not able to kick a 40 meter pass
