Dylan Grimes JDM

Yeah his touch and 2nd/3rd efforts are still a long way off arent they Blinger. All the missed footy is catching up with him.

He's a risky selection to take into a final on current form.

Really needs a pre-season & a big block of uninterrupted footy.

yep, has no confidence in his body. once that manifests the skills and decision making slide too.

big game coming up this week

some OK signs there but has some way to go... some of his kicks where poor, his not taking any marks.... No doubt Astbury was moved back to Coburg to "accelerate" Grimes's touch.....

May boil down to being omitted in the first final if his form is not up to it.

Highly overrated by people on here

Played 1-2 good games over a 20 game career and has been dubbed the answer

Reminds me of thursfields one decent effort on n.rewolt at etihad when he did his knee , earnt him another 100 games before we realised he was average

Pretty harsh.....Grimes has more skill than Thursfield ever had....the reason he got 100 games had more to do with the Terry Wallace era than anything else....never heard Grimes being called the answer....just heard due recognition for being a good footballer with some talent....been out for weeks and never once has anyone said we are lacking his presence in the back line....

Nah.
If he stays fit he will be a very very good player for us.
Saw it the first time I watched him at Coburg. Knows where to go, inate judgement. Plays on smalls and talls. Reliable and calm under pressure.

Ignore that kitrino dude, pretty sure he's an Essendon supporter or something

So which is it? 1 or 2? Terribly under-rated if you really believe that's the case.

He is highly rated because he played more than just a couple of good games, he became an autopick very quickly, he is very talented, classy, reliable. Basically, he is a gun, who is just getting his fitness back.

To put it another way - you have no idea mate. We really don't need another undereducated attention-seeker on the forum, but thanks for applying.

Well said hutstar, Grimes has been one of those unlucky injury prone players....but his talent and attitude towards his footy gets him back into the seniors very quickly after injury.....if he can go for a good period of time injury free, I think he will be regarded as one of the most reliable and dangerous back line players in the league

Who is he highly rated by? The public? The club? Or people on here?
Can't see what he brings to the club, if a club wanted him at years end off he goes...

The club. They have rated him highly enough to put him in the leadership group.

Too many "if's & but's" about Dylan for my liking at the moment & he's definitely no gun as some say.Yes he has ability but who doesn't at this level.

Needs game time to prove himself, but as others have said,Astbury is ahead of him at the moment.

You can see that we are carrying him at the moment. He is way way off what he is capable of.

Hopefully finds some touch next week, under finals pressure he would be a massive liability in this form

thought he took a big step up last week,

hopefully he builds on that next week, and is cherry ripe for the finals

Before the Carlton game Dimma or Newy (forget which) said that in some ways there is no more important player for Richmond than Dylan. If he can get fit and stay uninjured we'd have pretty much the perfect back half with Rance, Chap, Ellis, Houli and Newman.

one his belief in his body and ability comes back, the ability to read the play and run off his man will add another bow to our defensive team. Rance does it now, runs hard all day and can carry the ball half the ground (run and kick). Houlli and Morris do it. Chaplin is more a stay at the back defender. Having one more that can run hard up and down all day will make this unit of of the best defensive groups that can make you pay on the rebound.
