Huge year for this bloke if Rance has gone down with an ACL. Will need to take control of the backline. I reckon he’s up to it. Great player.
 
He is the fastest defender in the comp. he chased down the new kid from Carlton and then the out of nowhere tackle on Murphy was unbelievable.
But that’s what you get from Packbuster every week. He busts a gut every Game

Yep, there's no quit in him, he wouldn't know the meaning of it.
 
I reckon Grimes is the main one to step up in the absence of Rance.

As a potential future coach, and Rance’s equal for intensity on-field, he’ll now have the spotlight and added leadership on him. This year will show how underrated he is outside the club.
 
Personally reckon he's more important than Rance to our backline. Cant remember him being beaten.

They work as a unit. Going to be a lot tougher for Grimesy without Rance there having to take on the best or 2nd best key forward now with Astbury.
 
I think we need to resist the temptation of playing Grimes as a true tall defender. He can do it but generally he gets the most dangerous mediums and smalls. Not sure we have anyone else who can do that and it’s really important

I’d expect Garth to play Rance’s role, rather than bumping all of our defenders up 1 talent slot to a new role.

Garth won’t peel off to help others as much as Rance, so the main difference for the others is a little less support. This is where I see Grimes stepping up and covering his teammates more in place of Rance.

So everyone stays the same, Grimes peels off more, Garth peels off less than Rance, same players same system.
