You can absolute mark it down that Cotch will cop a week for a slap while membrey won't get anything because it was "in the contest"
 
Cotchin reported for what was probably an open hand slap to serial pest Lonie's midriff. OK, shouldn't have done it, copped a 50m penalty but umps ignored the aggravation and interference Lonie caused, penalising us both times.

Membry smashes Grimes in the face with his forearm, not even a 50m penalty. No report.

The umpires are a major arm of the AFL corporation. They disgust me. It looked like an AFL directive for the Aints to win last night, and put the Tiger upstarts back in their place. We were only meant to be bottom 6 also-rans again in '17. Money provider only.

That is how i see and saw it. Disgrace. Membrey goes for 4 for mine. Dog act with a player under the ball. This is a thing of the past, houli and bugg hits nothing compared to this. Cowardly in the biggest degree.
 
I would imagine his teammates couldn't look him in the eye at he end of the game. Puts his body on the line and gets crunched while his teammates played bruise free footy
 
Should be the only one paid after last night s game.
With the game done and dusted he still hard the BALLS to put his body on the line.
 
just watched the footage of the incident. Membry has to go, its an elbow to the face

If Jack did that, it would be "callously clubbed ........."

Easy it wasn't a clumsily act. The newspapers report what the want, but Houli was a violent act ??
 
Has to go for that. Went into a marking contest with a flying elbow, the video clearly shows that. Grimes had no reason to suspect it and couldn't protect himself. Also would up with concussion. If Membrey doesn't get weeks for it, then Richmond should lodge a formal complaint with the AFL demanding that it be further investigated.

No story either on Greenwood catching Merrett with the point of the elbow. Think the AFL has gotten sensitive about the sudden rash of on-field violence and has ordered newspaper editors into full deflection mode.
 
Membrey wasn't in the marking contest he was late to the marking contest . It is a clear act of thuggery the slo mo vision is all you need to see to give him 4 weeks

Membrey's hit was very hard to see in normal speed play. Don't blame umps for missing the intent but he'll get time for that. Cotchin was just stupid, who do that when the focus is clearly font and centre on that kind of behaviour and right in front of the ump?
 
There is definitely something wrong with the journalistic world at this point.

We have two minor incidents Cotchin and the one in the Essendon Collingwood game being over reported and emphasised while a complete and I mean complete dog act goes totally unrepresented.

Watching the video i can't see how this incident cannot be rated, intentional, high impact, to the head.

The result should be no less than the 6 weeks Bugg got.

At no time does this thug attempt to play the ball.

*smile* Poor act even worse umpiring.
 
I rate the Membrey hit the same as Toby Greenes on Daniels.

Late, hard hit the head from behind, designed to maim.

Greene got 4 down to 3 didnt he? Cant see any logical reason Membrey wouldnt get the same.

I think we owe Longer next time we play too.

yeah, it was another indicator that something wasnt right.

he cannoned into and shook the *smile* out of Dusty heaps, and Dusty had nothin'. He couldnt even laugh at him.

something not right about the whole night.

To his credit, Nankers made him hurt a few times late.
