if he can replicate Round 1 for 3/4 of the season that give him overs. We have not had the caliber of this type of player (apologies Richo, lesser extent Knights) since Maurice Rioli was at Punt Road! If we let him walk post 2017 the faithful will go nuts ( more so than usual)

If Timmy says he's leaving then it's nearly a certainty he's staying

just on that, is there anyone in the footy media who is less believable than Tim Watson? It is clear he has no "mail" and just says what he thinks (or hopes) is right.

A big game against mediocre opposition. Let's see him pants Dangerfield and S Mitchell before we get too excited and offer him the family farm.

Don't really understand this type of reasoning.

If he performs, then it was against mediocre opposition. If he doesn't, then he can't even perform against mediocre opposition.

Agree. Dusty does not have anything to prove. Has polled well in the Brownlow. I reckon this year's structure, which will see him spend more time forward will also be good for his game.

BTW, there was a 55m pass across the centre square last Thursday that was a joy to watch

He was breathtaking on Thursday.

Relish it, folks. We are witnessing the best player in the game in top flight.

Any stats on how many 30+ possession games he's had? He was fitter and stronger than before last year and he's taken it up another notch this year.

Is this a joke? He's had more than 30 disposals in 11 of his last 12 games and they included Western Bulldogs, Swans, GWS, Hawthorn, Geelong. Opposition doesn't matter to Dusty. He's a champion.

Absolutely.

Pendlebury, Dangerfield, a fully fit Fyfe and Sam Mitchell are his only peers at present. He and Fyfe are the next wave.

Dustys ceiling is higher than any of those players.

He could well become the best player in the comp this year if he isn't already. Only 1 game but he's starting to realise his potential.

Looking forward to the rest of the year.

And according to Wayne Carey and Tim Watson he's leaving. Guess we need to get used to this speculation throughout the season.

People like to lay the boots into Denham but he's got far more credibility than those 2. He's an actual journalist who would actually do his research and speak to his contacts. Whereas Carey and Watson are probably just trying to see his price driven up.

That shows how much he stepped it up last year.

No doubt he stepped it up but he also scored a lot less goals than prior years. I'll take his weekend game with 4 goals and 5 goal assists any day over many of his much higher disposal games last year. Going to be a very exciting year watching him play a lot more forward this year than getting those cheap 1-2 handballs in the defensive half last year.
