It would be extremely demoralising if we lost dusty now, our first true home grown game winning champion since I don't know who.
I dread the thought, I reckon it will set us back massively, compensation or not.
The thought of him going to a sh!tty club like nothing Melbourne makes it even worse.

Let's wait to see the outcome of the players EBA. Once the impact to the salary cap is known I'd expect Richmond to make a revised offer to Martin. If at that point he still decides to wait until seasons end to make a decision then panic.

I just caught a glimpse of the Dusty sledge on their banner, didn't read, just got a vibe, and thought to myself, 'are they sledging Dusty on their banner? we're home'.

Do players really care about this stuff? like stuff written about them in media and forums would be a million times worse. I don't personally get the fuss about the banner and i doubt that the players even saw it let alone let it effect them even if they did. IF they are getting fired up over that stuff before the game then i reckon it says alot about players focus..

Tiges should only offer him what we're prepared to pay and not get caught up in a bidding war (unless it's to drive up the price and screw whoever gets him in the end). The way some people are carrying on around here, you'd think that Dusty is our only player. I'm sorry but one player is not bigger than the whole club. Never has been and never will be. If that was the case, we would have shut up shop decades ago when Jack Dyer retired. If he gets too greedy, let him go. Doesn't bother me in the least.

If we want dusty we will have to up our bid. And to say he is only one player is utter crap - he does the work of at least 2 good players - maybe three average players.
Replace him in the side last week with another player - perhaps either Miles or Lennon then I reckon the result would have been to close for comfort.

You'll never keep your best players if this is your attitude. It's also up to the club to make a realistic market offer. I'm confident Martin will stay but only if the offer is market competitive (not matching but within reasonable range of what other teams are prepared to offer).
