Dustin Martin

Reckon you're underestimating Derm the athlete. He was small for a CHF even in his time at only 186cm but the young Derm was a beautiful mover. His body paid the price for his hard man approach and he was pretty much finished by 27/28.
Yeh. more referring to him being under-sized height wise. He was good on the ground and in the air and moved well.

It's a bit like Sicily, it's staggering in many ways that he can play on some much bigger men yet is rarely beaten and often out positions his opponent. I reckon it';s all to do with identifying the ball drop a fraction earlier and positioning beautifuly. Jack was the best in the AFL at this for a lot of years.

The guy he is boxing with should put a Sam Maclure mask on
LOL

At a training session with Caesar & ToO a couple years back & they were doing match sim, this guy "Clanger Kleynjans" was boundary umpiring & threw one in over his shoulder that wasn't great, I gave him a mild heckle & he replied sternly, I'm the boxing coach not a *smile* bounday ump ! I replied laughing, *smile* me you're the last bloke I should be heckling :)

LOL , thanks Achilles , just as well I put my disclaimer in
and I'll lean on the excuse , it was a long time ago

I'll also shake up our old timers

I have a nagging memory we had a player that kept Hudson goalless, any chance it was Grant Alford ?

Dusty with a nasty cut to the chin during match sim, being monitored for concussion. Leaving camp early. Ch9 report.

That report just highlights what we already know....
Dustin is STILL the headline act!
I think we'll see the best of Duty as a team leader next year.
Think he really wants to finish his career with a cup before he retires having done everything.

He can still be the best on field leader in the comp.
Knows what's needed at any time of the contest.
Has learnt off one of the best leaders in Cotchin how to relate to everyone, remembering that it was Cotchin who changed the entire culture of the club at end of 2016.
Knows (now) how to motivate his team mates without actually having to do it himself but will still be able to influence the contest.
His kicking - his best skill - was poor last year. Think it will be better after he was kicking himself with some kicks - goal and pass - last year
Think he will really help develop the coaches as well, something that is actually largely ignored in the competition (players teaching coaches)

When Dusty talks everyone listens.
Think the drive is there, even more than ever.

Used to have an interest in The Grace Emily on Waymouth st.
Great pub to see a band in.
No pokies.
No food.
Just booze and bands.
Saw many touring bands in the Grace.
Also saw many touring musos of big bands watching up and coming bands in the Grace.
