Dustin Martin

no that’s just your arrogance. There were many others who gave us those 3 cups not one person 😉
Never said Dustin did it alone. But just like MJ he was/is the greatest player in a great team. Are you suggesting that Dustin was not our best player from 2017 to 2020?

Nonetheless, hating one of our premiership heroes is just damn weird.

Dusty would have half a dozen, AA’s minimum, if he was a media darling and arse licker like Diverfield is.

Personally, I don't like the idea of blocking anyone as long as they are not being nasty. It's like being at the footy. Don't get upset, sit back and watch life's rich tapestry of comical opinions unfold.
And smile.

Bring Phanto back. I liked reading his informative posts.
Maybe send a PM to TBR or Dustintime and see if thats brings P
Was it Phanto that Richo apparently snubbed in an elevator, leading to the dislike? He had a couple other dislikes based on the same IIRC.
I can't imagine Matty Richardson snubbing anyone. Maybe he just didn't see little Phantom all the way down near his ankles. I'd rather give the bug guy the benefit of the doubt.

During one of the club functions, my mum was supposed to have her photo taken with one of the other players (being that players sponsor) but he wasn't present (the tragically late Shane Tuck). I asked Richo if he minded having a photo with her and he said "No worries, call her over".
He gave mum a big hug and said "You've made my day"!
All the way home, mum kept saying "He said i made his day"!
It's a little thing, but it meant the world to my mum who to this day displays that photo prominently in her home.

Back on Phantom, after an exchange with him on these forum boards, he posted in reply saying everyone on here knows i'm a drunk, which was pretty funny considering i've never drank or smoked or used drugs in my life (i'm missing out some may say). But the funnier side of it is my family history, if you could call it funny under the circumstances!
When i was 4, my family was involved in a car accident caused by a drunk driver crossing the white line as we returned from the Swan Hill Drive In. Dad died in the accident and mum almost lost her life. She spent 3 months in hospital, missed dad's funeral as she was touch and go herself. She had her spleen removed and carreis scarring on her forehead from going through the windscreen. The top half of her scalp had to be re-attached.

Memory is a funny thing. I remember sitting up (having been thrown clear) and hearing crying from my other siblings (there were 6 kids in the car, i was the youngest). I started crying and can remember asking myself why i was crying, but as the others were crying i just kept blubbering. My memory also tells me that i can remember seeing dad slumped over the wheel, but the more i think about it, i think my mind may have created that memory from the stories i heard later of him having a neat hole in the middle of his forehead from hitting the steering wheel.

I can definitely remember sitting on blankets with the other kids. Other cars had stopped and people were rendering assistance and stopping us going near the car as they tried to get our parents out. My sister started screaming that mum and dad are dead, and we all startedballing. I knew why i was balling at that point.

If you ever drive past a business called Trans Ag on the Mid Murray Highway, thats pretty much where it happened. I'd imagine there'd probably be a peppercorn tree still bearing some of the scars from the impact.

So if you're out there Phantom, no i don't drink you foolish little pecker head. In all fairness to Phantom, we don't know each others history when we interact on here, but i still think he's a pecker head.

Like that Yze wants Dusty to be fulltime mid (if true) - as good as he's in the fwd line it's his clearance work that we need. Need to load up with pace and more pace in the fwd line.

So do i.

I was preying that Yze wouldnt be our coach because of the Melbourne game style, but from what i'm hearing from people better connected than me is that his style will be radically different to theirs.

Now i'm actually really looking forward to what he brings to the table. I'm also stoked that Chris Newman has been brought back to the club.

So i unreservedly retract my negative post about Yze prior to his appointment. It looks like he might have been the bring spark in an otherwise dimwitted coaching box at Melbourne.

Get ready for the Ooze Crooze starting from next Monday. I'll be looking forward to beating Dumbourne again.

The original and the best! TBR. The umpires masseuse. Total Body Rub. The rest were mere impersonators. Frauds.

He knew people if you didn't know! Important people. Or so he said. But he had no time for Steve Waugh or KB. Good judge.
I gave KB the arse after Chopstick Gate when he wanted Dustin pilloried, and carried on like a complete muppet over it.

I think a lot of people did Craig and also the fact that he boycotted the club for so long didn’t make him any friends amongst the tiger faithful.
The thing with some however is that they let those things colour KBs contribution as a player which was immense. To me he was one of the top few tiger players in my lifetime and also imo the only one who can stand beside Dusty as a finals player in yellow and black. His finals record is unbelievable.

KB is an absolute legend of the AFL and the RFC. I disagreed with some of what he said but nothing could alter my respect and gratitude to him as a player and coach.

Also, you can never doubt his love for the RFC. Yeah he stayed away for a while but that was personal. He was absolutely shafted by the club at a time when he was trying to save it, putting his reputation on the line in the process. I’d be pi$$ed too if I was him.

In the context of our reactions to harmless opinions, smiling at eccentricity rather than taking offense and canceling is becoming a lost art.

Sadly, it is largely a generational thing.

There is harmless opinion and eccentricity, and this forum are full of those. There is also abuse, racism, sexism and misogyny. Those also appear on this forum.
Those things should be called out and not smiled at.

Yeah there is a line. It gets blurred sometimes but that is just a reflection of society I reckon, and maybe generational to some extent as Achilles says.

On opinions and eccentricity maybe we should have a thread for people to post the most stupid thing in hindsight they have posted in their time on PRE? I once posted that I thought Corey Ellis would be a star and a 200 game player. I also said in 2016 we would never win a premiership with Hardwick as coach! ( maybe I wasn’t alone in that opinion)

Dunno if I ever said never win, but I did want him sacked. I think I called Alex Rance one of the dumbest footballers ever once.
