I reckon once the new Players deal is announced we'll see a few big names, including Dusty, sign.

Dusty would be foolish to sign before the new deal is agreed.

At last, someone on here making sense.

Agree 100%, said the same to Big Jack weeks ago.

Agreed. In saying that, someone mentioned that the new agreement will be factored in to pre-existing contracts. Does anyone know how this will work? Will clubs be legally obliged to pay every player the percentage of the increase or can it all be stacked on to the top end? And even if it's paid equally across all current contracts, there'll still be extra space appearing in the yet to be allocated part of each club's TPP. Can this effectively ALL be eaten up with one contract anyway? With the newly adjusted other contracts eventually settling back to where they were pre the new agreement anyway? The answers to these questions may give a clue to what Carr may be thinking.

Not sure he'll stay or go.
I love watching him, and really hope he stays. If he doesn't though, I'm not gonna get bent out of shape. We'll get a few picks for him, if we don't try re-sign him and force him to stay.

We've put tons of effort into him, stuck by him through all the crap, give him leave to go see his dad. If he walks, it'll be a slap in the face for all we've done to support him. I won't want that type of player wearing a gold sash.

He has provided the club with what 8 years of service? Being drafted to and playing for the worst performing club since Fitzroy who still haven't got it right at any level of operations. He will stay if the offer is fair and the club shows big improvement. How could anyone begrudge a guy for wanting to move if it's yet another false dawn? You think these kids want to be selected by basket case clubs and dwindle away without achieving success?

He loves the club and has worked his ass off and been loyal. We would have to perform pretty badly to lose him.

I expect Dusty's decision to impact what Riewoldt does as well.

Essendon and Collingwood had a big go at getting Jack at the end of last season and if Dusty decides to leave Jack may follow suit as the chance of playing in a finals winning Richmond side would be greatly diminished.

As with any player who does so, there's no doubt a selfish aspect to Martin choosing to wait until seasons end before re-signing.
He should cop some criticism for that as some just put it to bed early and get on with it to avoid speculation.
It will be a topic that keeps coming up during the year whether we like it or not.
Hopefully the distraction is minimal but the longer it goes on history shows he may be headed elsewhere.

Not selfish. Just good business sense. It's his career.

As for me I support him 100% until he leaves, if he leaves. I reckon he'll stay in any case, but until then I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

Certainly not the worst performing club in his time at the Tigers.

People summising that the Pies are a threat due to the Swan factor.

Dane doesnt play anymore and also doesnt strike me as the type to be hanging around at Maggotwood regularly now hes not playing.

Hes a different cat is Dane Swan.

McChins offering him the world though is a different proposition.

That said i still reckon the Tigers are in the box seat with Dusty, but if he chooses to leave then he leaves its his decsion to make.

He is one that is going to need to maximise his $$$ from playing footy because there is no cushy media career waiting for him when he is done.

Not selfish.

If Dusty goes, which he wont, it'd be selfish by definition.

Unless he signed with a new communist team, where he was paid the same as the girl who hands out the muesili bars at training.

But I dont think the AFL have The Tassie Reds on their agenda. So Dusty would be selfish, if he went. Which he wont.

Worst performing club since Fitzroy , how do you figure that. The histroy books record flags and where you finish on the ladder , or are you making things up to suit your own agenda ::)

If Dusty indicates to the Club his leaving do they make a big play at Fyfe? If we have a poor year I'd be taking the 3 first round picks we have to the draft, if we make finals I reckon I'd go hard for Fyfe

It wasn't that long ago we were exactly that. We were a really *smile* club, in fact statistically worse than Fitzroy over their last 10 years!

Probably still the worst performed team since1980, excluding Fitzroy, certainly of teams in the comp since then. We have been well and truly sh!t. That the last four years made finals 3 times without winning is a highlight shows how truly crap we have been.

Only one way to change that.
