He is our best player and he will walk .

Its all about what we get for him, and it is going to be a long season of speculation no doubt.

My money is on the hawks. Hodge will retire and he will top off their midfield perfectly.

It will be a 1 year rebuild for the hawks, record fast rebuild. Shows what real club can accomplish when the board is run by professionals.

Good luck to them.

Meanwhile *smile* is too scared to poach the hawks fitness guy!

He'll earn top coin regardless of whether he stays or goes. I reckon he wants to sus out where the club is headed. Who will be our long term coach, are we a premiership chance etc. If we have another poor year or look nowhere near it, he might walk.

Now this is fine with me as it will trigger a genuine rebuild. 4 first round picks and likely a new coach. I'd like him to stay and the team to succeed but I'm ambivalent

Whatever happens will happen no matter what we think and post.

The only thing I would say is that his manager is a show biz agent. Whilst some agents would be worried about the pressure a season of speculation brings Carr would be thinking the exact opposite which is that publicity is good for his client.

Best thing the Tigers can do to keep him is play well and show we are on the up and up.

Noticed on a new clip last night that Carr and Dean Wallis were meeting with the club I think. What the hell is Wallis sniffing around for? Can only be to destabilise the situation and manoeuvre for Dusty to get to Essendon I reckon. Do not like this at all.

After the way club handled Lids, I don't think Dusty would care if a better offer came & he takes it. So be it. Club showed no loyalty to him in the end.

Claims of Dusty wanting to see how we perform before he signs, well honestly don't blame him.
Will be interesting to see how that pans out if Dimma can not get the team performing yet again this year. If Dimma gets protected again (doubt this time) then its "see you later" Dusty if we have a crap year.

If we fail and he gets sacked, will a new coach convince Dusty to stay or a 1 yr contract. .

On the positive side, Dimma has had a rocket put up him, gets his act togerther, new assistants are more talented than previous and the team starts winning and stays in the top 8. Might even win a final or 2. Do that, Dusty stays.

just some thoughts. But expect the media to hound us to death.
In the end, to me, whatever transpires, so be it. Like others have said I follow RFC, players come & go, but its the club I will continue to barrack & support.

That's right - He wanted out!
Yes, so the club did the right thing in not standing in his way. We allowed him to get the fresh start he said he wanted so I don't think we should have begged him to stay.
Not looking forward to the many months of constant pestering of Dimma and Benny etc. by reporters about whether Dusty is staying or going. They need to have a stock answer ready and then say "next question about the footy". TV reporters will push them just to get a reaction and more publicity for ratings but this 'pressure' should not force RFC into a rash decision either.

Nope don't buy it. Like others he's barely fired a shot in his finals appearances. The really good ones stand up even in losing sides.

Geez, I thought his 29 disposal effort against Port Adelaide wasn't too shabby. It's ok to pot players for not stepping up in finals but unlike Bontepelli who had immense support around him, Martin's often left to stand up almost alone. Can you imagine how Martin would have looked in that Bulldogs finals team? I shudder to think how good Martin could be if he had the depth support. This year will be the first time with the addition of some extra midfield hard nut grunt. I am very interested to see how that might help Martin's game this year.

Carnt see him joining the Drugos but who would know offer him a mil and if anyone goes higher than that we can match it plus with the picks we already have for next draft we would be in a rebuild year with a massive shake up of the list and a new ciach

Not sure but he is very close with Cotchin

Hawks, with more elder retirements this year would have cap space for Dusty
