Yarran leaving is what will keep Dusty at Tigerland, The cap was set with Yarran having 2 years at $450k a year and 2 years remaining , From whats been reported yarran will recieve 100k and that will leave 800k spare in our cap that was meant to go to yazz.

On a 4 year deal for Martin thats 200k per year that will go to Dusty imo

I love Dusty, one of my favs, however should he choose to go elsewhere which i hope he doesn't i would be comfortable with as long as we drove a hard bargain and received 2 x 1st or a first and a second, its pretty tough to keep a player that wants to leave.

Think as above the fortunes of RFC 2017 will have a big influence along with our $$$ offer, personally would love him to sign before round 1, id be comfortable paying 750-850 over 4-5 years.

2 x 1st rounders for Dusty this year would give us 4 x 1st rounders. Do we trust our new recruiting brains trust with that many in one hit?

We'd probably have 17 other clubs on the phone at the same time. The switchboard would explode.

Not if it was a solar switchboard ;D

(Btw willo, we don't have switchboards anymore....)

Well at least we got a thousand solar panels on the club roof, courtesy of our past sponsor. We'd need all of them to handle the calls

Pabx then

Dusty's dearest daddy not deemed to be of Aboriginal descent by the ABS (Aboriginal Sobriety Group) . ABS is a three person panel who decide if you are of Aboriginal heritage or not. With this ABS assessment Dusty's daddy is still persona non grata in the Land Of Oz.

Ha ha ha. You're either a clever and persistent troll or a really strange supporter.

He who laughs first laughs last. We shall see who is laughing when Dusty's future is decided.. If he stays I shall be laughing but if he leaves I shall be laughing at those who do not see the big picture. I still maintain he will not be Punt Road come 2018. An important factor will be Dusty's manager seeking a very healthy commission in brokering the trade so who satisfies his purse that is where Dusty will go. Burning question is who has got the chaff to do so ?.

It sounds almost like you want him to go just so you can be proved right.

No I dont trust our recruiters to come up with another match winner goal kicking A grade super :star such as Dusty
We talk about landing a BIG FISH!
Dusty is our humungous fish and is already playing for us. Offer him $4million over 4 years and get the deal done FFS!

Fair enough too.

If Leysy was a player of Dusty's calibre, like Lids, he would be seriously considering leaving the club under the current coach as well.

Which obviously dovetails into his premiership chances.

Dimma - The cost of his contract renewal could continue to mount considerably.

so true LD

It would be a generational shift and a rebuild if Dusty walked. We must retain.

We already have this draft covered with a smart Deledio trade. Need these draft picks to start the next generation and play complimentary roles early on.

The fear of having 4 x 1st rounders is that they'd get cute with one or two, reaching or getting speculative on one or two of the picks.

I do not want Dusty in other colours full stop. The big picture for any AFL player is a premiership. After seven years of hardship under Bernie a premiership at Punt Road appears to be light years away. Dusty in the next few years will have the opportunity to achieve that premiership if he moves on to a club which has a list capable of winning the ultimate, a AFL Preiership.

Premierships are over-rated.
Whats inside these 4 walls are what's coveted more.

So this is the extent you and I note, BS in his subsequent endorsement, will go to just to prove yourselves right about Hardwick!?

But I take great comfort in the fact that, for certain, LazyDaisy NEVER "was a player of Dusty's calibre, like Lids ..."

Hopefully you are really underestimating DM's loyalty and commitment to this club and his team-mates, and will have your sublimated wishes turn to *smile*.

Your an angry man Leon...

I think its fair to say 99.9% of RFC supporters want Dusty to stay in Y&B, outside of this were all speculating..

The thing that make me most uneasy is his flog of a manager, rarely would he see pay days like Dustys commission so the flog would IMO be providing advice that best suits his bottom line perhaps, hopefully the more mature Dusty can make the decisions himself and the flog will follow instructions..

Its as simple as this we have 2 first rounders in next years draft.

If Dusty leaves then we bleed the recipient of 2 more first rounders.

Of course we want him to stay but if he wavers and wants to go then we strike to maximise the return.
