Not with my money. He is the absolute opposite of Selwood, Hodge or Judd - except he can play footy. Shocking role model...

Because he plays footy to be a role model ?? You're kidding. ANY club would have him at ANY price if he was availble.

Any club would have him, but he is a loose cannon, and not the player to rebuild a club around at any price.

We need players of great character with strong on field leadership...

Gazza is not a great Captain or leader on field, neither was Judd. Selwood and Hodge are. Dusty doesn't need to be a leader on field, jus play brilliant football as he has been. Plus you don't build a club around one player, you build it around our core best.

He is a footballer not Mother Teresa.

Why do footballers have to be role models? I can think of a lot better people I would want my kids to look up to.

Put a 5 year $800k per year deal in front of him now.

Next year is going to be tough enough without having to worry about this as well.

Easy Tiger!

I would give him more than 800k if necessary, but a strict maximum of two years. (new club policy!) Not sure that he is mature enough to afford the luxury of a 5 year term.

Dustin's got tatts and a gangster haircut, but Hodge's got the drink driving conviction.

Who's the role model again?

Not mature enough? Considering what has happened to him this year and the football he is playing has shown a great deal of maturity.

and then the conversation goes....

Hawk - What about the chopstick incident?
Tiger -No charges
Hawk -Doesn't mean it didn't happen
Tiger - any rape allegations lately?

That's it. They gotta stick to the script.

It's footy we'd be paying him for, right?

That's funny, everyone around the club says he is a great young man and works extremely hard on and off the field. Is great with fans and has only ever had the one issue this year.

The tats, the hair, the family background are all nothing to be judged on you sanctimonious one.

My girlfriend's nine year old son is a Swans fan but he went to a football camp during the school holidays were Dusty was at. He came home raving about how great Dusty was and how he is his new favourite player. He even wanted to go down near the players race after the Tigers v Bulldogs game to see if he could talk to his mate Dusty. Obviously he is great with the kids.

Perhaps fairer to suggest that these aspects alone are not enough, let alone judging from a distance.

Are you serious? Tightass Dan is looking at 3 years 465k.

What, are you sure Dan said that?

Last I heard it was $35000 per year plus a free scarf, hat and socks.

We were a much better team when Martin was having 20 touches and kicking 3 goals than we are now when he is racking up touches.

Agree to a certain extent...he certainly needs to be given the licence to have a ping at goals whenever he's in range unless a team-mate is clearly in space.

Here we go. One player Martin, of 22 selected in a team, playing better is the reason we're playing so poorly.
