Contract negotiations starting I believe. ;D

That's all we need the tight ass Richardson to offer him a ridiculous low contract and then the stampede will begin with 17 clubs attacking

Trade him now before hardwick turns him into another has been could have been

Question is, why would he openly criticise our best performed player this season? For what?

Beats me. In Hardwick's eyes the Vickery's, Morris's, Hunt's are great no matter what they do, or more accurately don't do, but getting 18 contested possies, 10 clearances, 35 disposals each week is worth having a go at him for a few less than perfect disposals.

Received 5 votes in the Coaches Award. Looking at the votes it looks like Clarko gave him all 5 too. But what would Clarko know hey?

One gave him two, the other three votes, Rancey?

HAWTHORN v RICHMOND
9 Sam Mitchell (Haw)
6 Bradley Hill (Haw)
5 Dustin Martin (Rich)
5 Ben Stratton (Haw)
4 Josh Gibson (Haw)
1 Jack Gunston (Haw)

Cunning plan from Dimma to talk down his game.

The Brownlow hype was becoming a distraction for the club.

Now we can focus on the important stuff.

I've said this ad nauseum but i stand by my opinion that Martin has serious deficiencies.
If anyone checked the HS today, the Tigers rank last for midfield pressure.
I have also noticed Martin is developing the terrible habit of cheapy 1-2 handballs
to bolster his stats.
I thought Hardwicks view was completely correct. The problem is Hardwick bagged Martin but
left the spud Vickery in the side for weeks with nary a bad word so it makes him look
hypocritical.

Where did the other 5 go then?

Looks like the following:

Mitchell - 4, 5
Martin - 5
Hill - 3, 3
Stratton - 4, 1
Gibson - 2, 2
Gunston - 1

In any case, I doubt Dimma gave him 3 or 2 votes after publicly criticising his gane.

Yep I can't see any other combinations. Maybe Clarko will make a play on Martin.

I don't think it's his directive. Don't know how many times I've seen players not wanting to offload to Martin nearby knowing it's not a good decision but doing so once realising it was in fact Martin. I reckon Hardwick has said give it to Martin at every opportunity and make as much ground as possible.

Put a 5 year $800k per year deal in front of him now.

Next year is going to be tough enough without having to worry about this as well.

He seems to get completely lost when the opposition is bringing the ball out, just stands in no mans land. It was very evident against a side like Hawthorn on sunday

I'm pretty sure most coaches game-plans involve getting the into the hands of their best players

The one decent coach gave him five votes by the look of it.

Are you serious? Tightass Dan is looking at 3 years 465k.

Not with my money. He is the absolute opposite of Selwood, Hodge or Judd - except he can play footy. Shocking role model...
