Dustin Martin

Just on CH10 news, Dusty didn't come back on the same aeroplane with the team from WA?!

Hmm, red herring, West Coast or Freo? maybe met with them. Intrigue thickens :)

"Martin is a restricted free agent, so the Tigers could match any offer from the Roos. Industry figures maintain the Tigers should be the first club to do that, if required, for they are in their "premiership window". As of Monday, the Tigers remained uncertain about Martin's future, with the prevailing view that if his decision is based solely on money, he will leave."

I did get mail a few months ago that the decision would come down solely to $$. I hoped it was bs but now starting to get concerned...
That's contrary to what swanny said that team success was important , would seem odd that he delayed committing to RFC on account of seeing how they'd go only to ditch them and go to a side that finishes second bottom

Dont think he would be putting the entire continent of Australia and the associated additional 4 hour plane trip between him and his old man. Zero chance of him going to one of the Perth clubs.

let's hope you are right BJ.

So the latest from Mark Stevens is that dusty and malph are heading across the ditch during the week off before finals to meet with his dad and make a decision.

If that is the case then as far as I'm concerned, if he intends to stay, word will get out quickly after he returns. If no word, he will be elsewhere next Year and beyond.

I'm not jumping the gun but I hope the club just holds its nerve. Ablett, Franklin and Dangerfield all left and their clubs have done more than alright without them. I love dusty and think he stays but if this does take a turn then let him go. Says a lot about the bloke if $'s more important than building success like we seem to be doing. I'm over it. This entire thing has been a circus and the club needs to be strong and not get bent over.

This issue needs to stop being a distraction pre finals
Need an announcements ASAP it's getting to the ridiculous stage.
There was a promo for Fox Footy I saw on the weekend players were asked. What do you think is going to happen if a player is putting off contract discussion till the end of the season? Others including Dusty said they're :wave :wave
Interesting days ahead

A lot has change due in 7 months from that Swan interview, I think Mr Martin has had a huge say or will.

So if the decision is made whilst on leave in NZ, if the club is informed does it withhold that info or release it.

Does this effect the pysch of the playing group going into the start of a finals campaign.

Personally this hold the decision till the end of year is bollocks.

If he goes to North for 1.5m/7 years then goof luck to him. I reckon most neutral AFL observers would lose a fair bit of respect for him.

It is not his decision whether he goes or stays.
It's up to the club , but if they see he really wants to go I believe they won't stand in his way

Given that the Martin camp stated early on that they would wait until the end of the season to make their decision; this was always going to drag out and be about money.

They were always going to hang out for the best offer, and if Richmond could match it great, if not he was gone to the highest bidder.

If being a one club player and enjoying all of the revenue streams that brings meant anything to him he would have signed by now.

Good luck to him.

This is getting ridiculous.
Handled really badly by all except the club.

Also really messes with our plans going fwd.
Happy to chase two guns for 1.5m
Love dusty but its reached tipping point.
I reckon hes been a bit off, not form wise, since the suns game. I feel that he is gone.

And if he is leaving under the current circumstances then I reckon he doesn't give a *smile*!
