Delaying contract talks is a great way to get the football world talking about how good you are. You've got North families sitting at home talking about how great it would be if Dusty came to them. You've got Essendon fans fantasy debating whether to throw 1.5 million at him. And you've got the Jeep logo on the front page of the paper every week.

Carr has done well for Dusty, and us (assuming he stays!)

Gee not the report I listened too, made it sound like North will miss out on Kelly and will throw everything at Dusty and basically how could he refuse?
There's a reason Kelly has turned his back on a nine year 9 million deal...
Dusty will rake in the cash at tigerland through endorsements etc. What better way toto maximise your value than by playing at the leagues biggest club, sorry Collingwood we're back.

Completely comfortable he stays and always have TBH.

Would have been good for him not to milk every drop as it will enhance his premiership chances though.

Luv the way all these media flogs are saying Danger has lost the Brownlow. Was never his in the first place. Dusty ahead in all the predictions so wish they would just get off Dangers bandwagon. (thought he was hard done by myself - but thats life)

Paid him unders on his current contract, he and Carr might feel slighted by that and want overs on this contract.
Still think he wants to stay, just hope he's getting good advice, because I'm not sure he got it last time.

The delay might be disruptive for our ongoing list management, but it's also disruptive for clubs trying to woo Dusty.

Let me clarify - they said Dusty would love to re-sign ASAP, but Carr won't let him, which is sound business sense given other likely offers.

I can't see why he would announce he is leaving the club in the week before finals. My impression is that carr has tripped up and signalled he will stay.

His current contract was done with no fuss. You may bee thinking of the one before that when he toured gws facilities.

Time flys, I was talking about when he toured GWS.

He might have meant it in as he will make up his mind by then, he may not announce where he is going until day 1 of free agency like Dangerfield. Hopefully he stays but it's just a possibility

Yes agree, many angles. I think we believe what we want to read, particularly when this is so grey. As mentioned before I don't see any point jumping at shadows at this point in time.

I'm not so sure he stays.

We're going to make finals. He's the key part to our list, along with another forward to help Jack. We may even finish top 4.
He's not going to see anything for the rest of the year up to round 23, that he hasn't already seen.

Which means, if he's seen it already and is holding out......then maybe there's a godfather offer on the table from North. He may think he's no chance to win a final\premiership with us, so why not go get extra cash whilst missing out on the ultimate prize.

has Kelly said no to North officially? I haven't heard of that......

I think saying "No" to North unless you are in the twilight of your career is considered a norm. It would only make the papers if a player said yes.

Think Ralph Malph is saying to the other clubs, "Get your offers in before the finals".

Ridiculous. No player would do that.

I'm old enough to remember the Cloke/Raines/Wood departures. I reckon a Dusty departure would hurt more, but I still think he stays.
