Again we can read whatever we like in the article, now if Dusty dosent make a public decision by finals the entire footy world will be certain his leaving, that can't be good . Atleast after this contract decision one way or the other we won't have to go thru this again with Dusty.

Can only mean he is staying, I cannot see Dusty announcing he is leaving before finals...

If finals come an go and he isn't signed even though I'm an optimistic person id say hes gone, before finals he stays!

Cant announce hes leaving before a finals series, it would be viewed very very poorly I would think!

Precisely. Based on this would be shocking if he left. Would have a huge impact on the team's psyche.

What's Carr playing at. Saying the decision is all up to dusty. The ball is in his court to make a call, I'm just waiting as my client requested. Putting it all on dusty. didn't say we were waiting, saying he was waiting as dusty requested and it's up to him to make the call as he said at end of rd 23.
And full of praise for rfc.
He's taking a weird tact here????

Can anyone remember when Danger & Ablett left if they let their respective clubs knew before or after finals. I cant remember.

Footballers are also professional. Personally think irrespective if Dusty stays or goes, I do believe he will give it his all to win a flag. Opportunities don't come often.

Dusty was very defensive of Carr at the B & F a couple of years back , one things for sure if Dusty wanted to be signed he'd be signed.

Well he's doing what an agent does on the face of it. He has to be guided by his client's wishes. Carr cops a lot (hard not to dish it out given he's a grub) and that's his job, to be a lightning rod for criticisms that might otherwise be leveled at his client.

Do I believe Dusty told him to go and watch Norf? Of course not. But it's posturing, part of the game. The GWS stuff a few years ago was the same, just posturing. GWS remarked the minute he left that Dusty wasn't interested in the slightest. Carr's simply doing his job.

For some reason (call it hopeful or naive), I just believe Dusty wants to wait to make a call. Nothing wrong with that and the club has dealt with it well.

Agree, but lets look at it this way. RFC 1st offer was $800K. What is being reported $1.2mill now. I'd say Ralphy is doing his job ! Not sticking up for the guy but the results are there. Dusty too has played his heart out for the club. Cant ask any more of him.

Hope we snare a flag. 20-"17" being the year. Jack Dyer would be happy ;)

Sound so like Carr isn't getting the love he wants so he's gone to the press. Does he know every club thinks he's a joke?

Spot on Baloo.

He's a flog and trying to save face. Has put it all on Dusty.

Class act.

Maybe the North rumour has some truth and Dustys got Carr to come and douse water on the fire with a statement making believable that his staying not to cause any tension in the rooms? Who *smile* knows

I'm sure the club are enthused that young Shai is now in the RCM stable.

Wonder if Dusty got a spotters fee.

Didn't Carlton give up two first rounders and Kennedy for Judd - that's the asking price

West Coast traded Chris Judd and Pick 45 (Dennis Armfield) for Picks 3, 20 and Josh Kennedy (was a pick 4)

Maybe Carr went to Tassie, saw the Roos game and then said to Dusty: "You don't want to play down there."

Martin could be halfway through a six-year deal with Norf and find himself playing in Tassie every third week.

Dusty will be at Richmond next year, I would put my house on it.

I challenge anyone to name a player who was in the current top 10 players in the AFL that walked across town to an Opsition club, it just doesn't happen.

The likes of Goddard and Thomas left their respective clubs but by then their best footy was behind them.

The only ones that leave are those that go interstate (Buddy, Ablett) or have the go home factor (Danger).

If Dusty was to leave it would only be interstate, North are kidding themselves if they think there a chance, they will miss out on both Kelly and Dusty.

Agree.
I cant see how he could be 'gone' now.
From all reports he is happy, so he would only be going for money.
So he wont know whether that means he goes until he gets an offer and we choose to match or not match.
As a result I cant see us trading him. If we are willing to match he wont go.

He was never going to go - cant believe we will overpay for someone who was never going.
if we pay more than 900k - 1mil per year we are nuts.

Someone would have to offer 1.5mil for 8 years for Dusty to leave. it aint going to happen.

I don't think for a second that Dusty is going.

But should we do the incredible and win the flag this year, I will die a very, very happy man and Dusty can go wherever he bloody well likes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You pay what a player is worth. Never lowball loyalty.

Unfortunately these days we have to live with uncertainty, Dusty will either take one of two positions. First chase the money, cant blame him for this. Second he will realise that by taking a little less means Richmond can sign more class players within the salary cap and win more finals whilst he is with us.
Choose North and not have the passion of Richmond supporters with you, or several finals campaigns and a few possible flags?
If we finished outside the 8 this year - Dusty going would make sense. Right now I hope we pay enough but retain enough to buy in 1-2 more A graders to our club

Yeah he's worth more than 900-1mil. He's the best player in the comp. Fyfe got 1.2m.
Gee geel got a great deal with danger. Wat 900k he's on? unbelievable!!!!
