I have noticed a few times you mentioned that the increase in TPP means an increase in a current comtract. Are you for real, is every player currently contracted going to get the increase or only new contracts post the new deal? Someone tell me a contract is a contract.

Where did I mention in my post you referred to that our midget is automatically now getting $840k ?

You've been strong recently in your stance that he is staying, are you wavering from that view now?
No I am not.

People (the media) forget we hold all the cards here. He is a restricted free agent. We can match any offer which we have already said we most likely will.

In the unlikely event he wants to go to North we match the bid. He either stays or we force North to hand over two first round draft picks. He won't go into the draft.

We are not going to let a once in a generation player leave without a fight. $100k per year isn't going to stop us.

If Norf are offering 1.3m for 6 years I think if we match that with other incentives we'll get it done.

Personally I'd hate to lose him for the sake of 100k or so. He is a once in a generation player. I feel like the club would be psychologically gutted if he left. We can't risk that.

Surely merchandising at Richmond is worth substantially more than he would get at Norf. He is universally loved at Tigerland.

Depends how strong the club is, Adelaide survived losing Danger. Geelong won a premiership the year after losing Ablett

Match the offer and force them to trade.

2 first rounders thanks.

. We should have back up plans if he goes.
We should be using the compensation to grab Lever.
I would go after Rockliff (stuffing up Adelaide)
Then next year I would be going Hard Core after Petrecca

It's not the end of the world if he goes. It will stun us at first but the club will continue.
This is a perfect opportunity for the club also.
Finish the season in the top 4 and having possibly 4 top 20 picks.
Is not all bad!

I don't feel like we are as strong as those clubs.

Lets face it, it's been a tough 37 years.

I have re read your post and I reckon its your logic on the pay difference across 2 agreements that must work for your line of thinking. I disagree with the pay differencial in your explanation unless of course The Gun Prestia has a clause increasing his contract with a new TPP. It just is what it is, I am sure Dusty and co would have planned to wait until the agreement was signed off prior to even considering the new contract.

Next four weeks will say a lot about Dusty I reckon. Will he go into his shell a bit to protect his Brownlow, Will he contnue as he has and go hard at it for the club to make top 4. Will he be able to handle all the mongrel tactics that will be coming his way by other players trying to get into his head realising he cant retaliate or face possibly loosing a Brownlow.

Interesting to see how it unfolds.

I think people can believe which ever media/ rumour report they want to form there opinion on wether Dusty stays or goes , I don't have a bloody clue a this point, the one thing that worries me is he simply hasn't signed when he could have. It's his choice to put the money as his priority in his decision , many greats have stayed loyal for a lot less money then they could have demanded in the pursuit of team success.

For me the club has gone above and beyond to keep Dusty happy and help mould him into a better person, I can't fault the club with Dusty at this point of his career, who knows what sliding doors will open if he does leave, yes definatly want Dusty to stay, however even though we are not Geelong or Hawthorn they went onto win flags losing IMHO better players then Dusty, no idea what's going behind closed doors here, however it can't be doing list management any good.

I still don't think he will go. It's all innuendo to talk his price up. It's wait till the end of the year. He did this last time and Travis Cloke was the same. Think North has an offer on the table, last week it was going to Sydney, then i hear further north to QLD, hird come out with should go to Gold Coast, flog Watson then starts changing his tone saying i think its further north than Sydney. Still, haven't mentioned Saints and now with Sir Nick retire even more cap space will be the story! All this is telling me is that nobody is certain and they are sticking to their guns with waiting until the end of the year

The thing that *smile* me the most is pretty much all these flog experts seem to be barracking for him to leave.. Wankers will wright anything so they can at the end say : Told ya so - look at me, look at me.

Interestingly everybody is talking about offers on table etc but most of the talk is that they think he will stay. Given its Richmond and Dusty articles and speculation sell and gets tweets etc so easy win for the media to throw things out. All that is certain is that they said they will hold off contract talks to the end of the year and that's all they are doing.

Most ex players that are in the media are saying they hope he stays at the Tiges.

I think BT was spot on the other night saying Dusty would know where he will be next year, the rest of us just to have to wait

They currently have pick 3. That's a good starting point, and could be used to land Kelly.

People - he will stay.

Martin, and Carr for that matter, are different cats.

Dusty has said right from the beginning that he'll wait till the end of the season.

Dude like that doesn't turn around and do it earlier.

BT is a buffoon of epic proportions but he is right in this case.

Dusty knows what he wants and it will be Richmond at market price.

So your saying we need to employ Jake the enforcer King to take out Carr??Exactly "smile" North
Would be good wouldn't it! But no, I'm simply saying that we're dealing with someone who has pretty much zero principles and doesn't care who he burns in pursuit of things that benefit him and not necessarily his client.

I keep remembering how Dusty was shopped to GWS by Carr and how they could tell he wasn't interested.
