Tony Sheahan reporting on twitter that North have tabled a $7.8 million, 6 year deal to Dusty.

You know what? I'm starting to think he deserves it. Unless he transgresses in the next 4 weeks he's about to win the brownlow.

Hope he's booked in for elocution lessons.

Brownlow night.

Bruce McVaney: I'm sure you'd like to say a few words, Dustin.

Dusty: Na Thanks Bruce. I won't keep yuz long. I'd like to thank the Rfc, my team mates and my Dad. Love youz all.

Bruce (captured off mike): Geez, he's gonna be done in 15 seconds. How do we pad for 20 minutes? Struth!

Producer: Don't sweat Bruce. We are splicing up his highlights (Thankfully there are truckloads of them) which we will run on a loop!

Bruce: Phew, that will be Special as Dusty is off to The Swan Hotel for some Doug Gotts!!!

:hihi

True, people leave their current jobs for $40 a week pay rise let alone $2000

Yeah but they're doing that so they can pay the electricity bill and turn the heating on again.

Yeah, right! ....and they still have Kelly's 9 year, $9 mil deal on the table too !?
Its a big table...

That would be 600k less tax more than our bid if Caro is right. Surely he wouldn't

Caro said from memory $1.1m to $1.2m p.a., so it could be $1.2m less tax the difference.

$100K p.a. after tax. Not to be sneezed at!

If Dusty leaves for the Lolnorf then so be it. They are not a club that attracts crowds and television audiences. He can
do his stuff to pre-recorded crowd noises, cardboard cutouts and wherever they eventually relocate to.

What riles me, is that a club that exists because of the enforced largesse of other AFL clubs, via equalisation funds, are
free to flagrantly continue to run their business irresponsibly and without any fear of consequences. The black knight(AFL)
will ride to their rescue with more handouts.

Whats better to think about is we are about to get another Brownlow medallist, perhaps the #4 is the most exalted number in Tiger history?

I wonder if he'll be allowed to invite Cotchin on stage to give an acceptance speech after his.

Allows him to reduce the length of his speech and gives Cotchin his Brownlow moment on the night.

Here's what the club is dealing with:

A friend of mine started a venture with Dustin (independently of Ralph Carr) which started going rather well. There were no issues with anything and Dustin was really happy with how it was all going. Enter Ralph Carr. As soon as he found out he wasn't getting a slice of the action he threw a major tantrum. Suddenly there were threats, both legal and otherwise and eventually Ralph Carr Management muscled their way into the venture. As soon as that happened everything had to be done according to Ralph, (including the RCM logo on everything).

It got to the point where Ralph felt that they should be getting more money than the previous spilt agreed to. After a lot of toing and froing my friend was ultimately completely cut from the venture despite having started the whole thing. Now it is completely run by Ralph who is getting a lions share of the proceeds. Is it better for Dustin? I don't know but all I know is that Dustin blindly follows Ralph Carr for whatever reason and takes his word as gospel.

So this is what the club is dealing with. I'm sure if Dustin had another manager the contract would have been signed long ago. That's my 2 cents worth. Ralph Carr is largely impossible to deal with.
So your saying we need to employ Jake the enforcer King to take out Carr??

If Norf are offering 1.3m for 6 years I think if we match that with other incentives we'll get it done.

Personally I'd hate to lose him for the sake of 100k or so. He is a once in a generation player. I feel like the club would be psychologically gutted if he left. We can't risk that.

Surely merchandising at Richmond is worth substantially more than he would get at Norf. He is universally loved at Tigerland.

Do we want a player at Richmond who would jump off if offered more money to go to a crap club!

If he's as good as Dusty we do.

Would you take Danger if he wanted to come to Richmond - he was disloyal to Adelaide.

You've been strong recently in your stance that he is staying, are you wavering from that view now?
