Dustin Martin

Interesting ad running on Fox Footy where players are asked to explain common footy phrases or comments.

Dusty is asked what it means if someone puts their contract talks off until the end of the year, and his reply 'They are gone!'.

I've gone full circle on Dusty.

At the start of the year I thought he was gone, mid year I thought we were in a good place, but I'm back to being concerned.

At this stage, the offers from other clubs are as big as they are going to get, and our offer is on the table.

The only reason not to sign, is if you plan on signing elsewhere.

I know he doesn't do much media, but it worries me that even at his less structured appearances, I don't think at any point he has said that he is happy at Richmond, wants to be at Richmond or anything similar.

Normally yes, a massive concern BUT with the circus that comes with Ralph Carr you just don't know.

I know he had 40 touches on the weekend, he had some massive second half numbers but being at the game I think he has played so much better in 2017. IF he finishes the last 5-6 games with a BANG then we a. play finals, b. push hard for top 4, form there we can dare to dream!!! If he does that he will deserve the $1.3+ (if Fyfe is on a reported $1.2, then Dusty should be a fraction ahead).

None of the media think he will leave. Even Daddy Jabby Watson, who was the most sure Martin was leaving, has pulled back and said he's likely to stay.

The media would be in a frenzy if they thought Martin would be anywhere but PRO next year.

This is the same media that thought buddy was going to GWS.
No one knows
The longer he holds off the sooner we plan life without him.
I reckon his goneski

They knew he was going and he always always in the press. They just got the destination wrong. Different this time around, media confident he is staying.

With Fyfe re-signed to Frockers bit concerned Dusty is leaving it " till end of the season"
IMO the longer he leaves it means hes :wave

I sat next to a 74 year old rock music guru at the State of Origin in Brisbane last weekend and we spoke at length - He knows Ralph Carr extremely well. Has his house on it that DM will remain at PR

I reckon he's waiting to see how we finish.
If we drop our bundle, lose every game, and finish out of the eight, then he's gone.
If we finish 1-4, or 5-8 and win at least one final, I reckon that would be enough to see him stay.
7-8 is the middle ground.
Don't think it's about money. It's about whether or not he can see a flag at the RFC.

Yup. I reckon those who think Dusty is the one delaying are way off the mark. This has Merkin written all over it.

Still reckon Martin will be in the Yellow and Black for the remainder of his career.
It's just that RFC is going to have to stump up the bucks because Martin is soon to become the Tigers big franchise player, the marquee star

Doubt it. If the player wants to sign, they sign. Think too many wish to blame Carr because they don't want to blame a beloved Tiger player.
