Yes. Has to watch himself. Reckon AFL will do all it can to rub him out before end of season to protect Dangerfields brownlow.

They had reason to rub him out this week IF THEY HAD REALLY WANTED too. AFL makes rules to suit their agenda, , if they wanted to rub dusty out they would have

Agree. For all their Danger love, the AFL just love dishing out awards to as many people as possible and for that reason I think they'd prefer a different Brownlow winner each year, and if Dusty gets rubbed out, there's not many others to seriously challenge Dangerfield.
It's a pity that attitude of the AFL's does not extend to the premiership.

Tries to make up for the massive gulf in class between he and his opponent be resorting to acts of thuggery.

"Opposition sides are probably going to get under [Robertson's] skin a bit and try and antagonise him and get him to react that way, so he needs to be able to deal with that, and I think as he plays more footy he'll learn to deal with it better."

LOL Dayne Beams.

The worry now of course is that Dusty needs only one more minor infringement to miss a week and the Brownlow. Carrying that into a finals series is not ideal, and really in some respects the AFL has set itself up for major controvery if (heaven forbid) some minor transgression happens.

If they had any brains, they'd have given a whisper to a prominent journalist to write a major story on players going around trying to hobble opposition superstars by kneeing hamstrings and quads etc - let that be the controversy, rather than a star retaliating to a dog act like that.

Then, come down on the dog doing the dog deeds, and brush the minor infringement of the star (be it Dustin or whoever) under the carpet. Anyone watching what little boy Robertson was doing would not begrudge Martin retaliating the way he did. Let's face it, if little boy Robertson had his robot near him while he pulled that sh!te off, it would have been going into meltdown "Danger, Danger Wil Robinson.......danger, danger". He's lucky he only got what he did.

While the AFL were at it, they should have slapped an extra fine on Robertson for staging as well.

Buggered if i go to the footy to watch someone trying to cork those that we actually pay good money to watch.

Be it Ablett Danger or Dusty there needs to be a crackdown on the thugs who try to maim them at every oppotunity. A few free kicks should send the message

You are right.
They shouldn't retaliate (which is easy for me to say sitting in the crowd) but I was watching Robertson and Martin before and after the incident. He was continually belting Dusty in the back, with not much force, but he just kept doing it.

Free kick against Robertson and it's all over and nothing would have happened

absolutely. i don't get how the constant heavy niggle escapes scrutiny. Robertson was at it all day.

do dusty and cotch take the two strikes into finals if we make em?
Don't think so. The votes used to be counted and publicised right after the H & A finished so I couldn't see how you could withdraw the medal from someone who got rubbed out in one of the finals.

Are we likely to challenge either of the fines? Would only increase the fine amount of we lose. The Lewy Taylor one sounds a bit dodgy if there's no video footage, or they could argue insufficient force on the Robertson one?

Exactly. How many umpires do you need on the ground? Just stamp it out early in the game. Use the rules.

Hahaha, too funny. I'm guessing that Dayne aint the sharpest tool in the shed!!

No team could be blamed for trying to get under the skin of a true champion and ornament to the game like Nick Whatsisname. ::)
