Dusty has had a great last 2-3 years and has offered plenty on the field. Good article today on the fox sports site about the difference this year where he has gone from statistically the best one on one player in the competition in the last 3 years to having only had one such contest in 5 games! Something is not right and the only thing that has changed is the deportation of his Dad. This kid is not a robot and whatever we think of his Dad the only conclusion I can come to is that he has been badly affected by it.

The club and his teammates have invested a lot in Dusty and he has repaid the faith for a few years now including a 2015 where he got over 20 votes in the Brownlow. Personally I am cutting him slack for the moment in the hope that he can get his head together because that's the issue imo.

I agree with you Sin, we should cut him some slack as his form is simply following that of the whole team at the moment.

However, if it is about his dad, it's pretty weak for a professional athlete. First of all his dad lived in Sydney not Melbourne and he now lives in NZ, not Siberia. I believe he had to get Chimp to show him how to pay his phone bill, but I am sure he knows how to actually use a phone! He is 24 yo and you can fly to NZ in 4 hours, what about 18 yo kids drafted from Melbourne or Sydney who have to move to Perth, or vice versa? That's about 4 hours flight away (if you can get a direct flight).

Look I am sure he is upset about his dad being extradited, that's natural, but he is a professional athlete earning something like $600K a year, so if that really is his problem with form, it is yet another black mark against him IMO.

What a load of crap. Fair dinkum. Looked outstanding pre-season. Looked great right up until the Collingwood game when we all found out about his dad.

I think some are forgetting just how good he is. A bit down but when he's on he is devastating.

This trade talk is a nonsense. He is neither our main problem, nor our main answer. They lie elsewhere. Move on.

What he earns and whether he can play footy is irrelevant. His Dad has effectively been labelled a criminal and deported from Australia. Sure he can call him and fly to NZ but that's not the issue imo.

Dusty is playing without energy, without passion. From what i have been told what has happened in the last 6 months , both chopstickgate and his Dad, has a lot to do with that

He'll be back.

Definitely looks like a waddler ATM, taz.

Is he fat or does he have a quad or something? He's got no drive off the mark.

I thought that last week. Started on the bench and didn't come on for at least 5-6 minutes. Played as a stay at home deep forward and didn't move up the ground much. Not the normal Dusty modus operandi. I think he's carrying something.

just another mentally soft player that we have. We seem to have more than other teams for sure. Where is the lets show em type attitude. Meh find some form Dusty or trade time at end of year. $600,000 a year. His performance on the field is crap at the moment!

Yep - just needs a spark and he'll be back to his best.

I haven't seen enough of Dusty to comment on his form. I've read plenty of criticism and excuses regarding how he's travelling though. Considering DH's comments about the performance based game if he doesn't fire up this week as I expect him to should he have a run in the ressies? I don't think any player should be immune to that but it never seems to happen. Dusty is payed very good money to perform well on the field and there shouldn't be any excuses for continued under-performance.

Eat 'em Alive Dustin.
