Dustin Martin

His old man just got kicked out of Australia. He is 24? Have a think about that, and football..

We might as well give him a leave of absence. He is a liability at the moment

They need to. His mind isn't on playing. If there was a New Zealand team in the comp, he would be off to them at seasons end.
He misses his dad plain and simple.

I too miss my Dad and see him 2 or 3 times a year as he lives interstate.
Playing nowhere near the level expected. Get on with the job Dustin or I agree leave him out.

Just not giving the team much this season.
Doesn't seem that interested in getting away from his issues and becoming absorbed in his footy for a couple of hours each week.
Let him have a trip away if that's going to help matters.

My dad has terminal cancer and I still go to work and do my job each day. And I get paid far less than Dustin. Pissweak. Geez we are getting soft if we use this as an excuse.

I'm filthy with Dusty.

ah yes the Trotter! Moves like the Krakouer brothers... and what are they about 60 years old?

Tend to agree. There's plenty of people whose dad's have passed on and they manage to function in their jobs. Dusty can Skype him whenever he likes and jump on a plane and visit. He needs to grow up a tad.

My biker dad is having legal troubles and I get paid 600 grand a year to kick a footy. Please please please show me some sympathy.

Harden up Dusty

Dusty, along with Jack and Rance, will not see a flag at the Tigers. Start collecting the best kids. (with a new coach and recruiters, of course).

Sure, and no team does it by disposing all their best players. Why? Because it doesn't work. These players need to teach the younger players. We'll get plenty of opportunities to pick up young players it seems in the next few years whilst growelling around the bottom of the ladder AGAIN.

Didn't his dad live in Sydney? So he wouldn't have seen much of him anyway? And I believe he spent not much time with his dad as a kid as his mum raised him in Castlemaine?

Fair dinkum, isn't it about time he grew up? He's 24 not 14!! Heaps of kids every year cut the apron strings at 18 years of age and move away for work or university with little or no support.

*smile* we are the greatest excuse makers in the world at RFC.

The club as a whole just needs to harden the *smile* up.

Seem's Dusty's been handbraked too.

As a see ball get ball player , I would have thought he was the last bloke who would succumb to the handbrake but I may have been wrong.

Opposition is setting up to corral him at stoppages. Needs to get more mobile.

Rarely kicks now. Rarely gets played up forward. Rarely gets the ball from team mates. Its a strange situation for Dusty, he cant get near it (and by that i mean he cant seem to break the 30+ disposal and 2 goal a game barrier).

Part of Dusty's on field problem is that he still loves to kick across his body. It rarely comes off and usually results in a turnover. He just can't seem to get clear like he used to do and too often is under extreme tackle pressure. C'mon Dusty, you're much batter than this!

Did anyone notice DH trying to have a heart and soul chat to Dusty at /4 time and Dusty staring around anywhere but at the coach? Sounds like an enormous lack of respect to virtually ignore him.

3/4 time ? I saw it but it didn't look like lack of respect to me. It seemed more like when you are telling off a little kid and they look down at their shoes. I think he was more embarrassed. At the end he did make eye contact when he nodded yes or something affirmative.
