And able to do it a club that he is happy at...apparently.

Will be interesting to hear as the season winds up.zippadeee said:The only carrot where got is stuck up our ass. First top 5 footballer we have had in 25 years and the club is no closer to knowing what he is doing is a disgrace.
Let's not be stupid on this. Martin knows today what he he is doing regarding next year.
Hawthorn were 99% sure franklin was walking out. He was gone
It's not Scully like. Everyone knew he was out.

If we hear that we are into a big fish than he is gone.
sh!t situation because the biggest fish in the league is already here.

The list management team would already have contingencies. Thats their job.zgod said:Dusty needs to let the club know well before seaaon end. The club needs to be able to make plans and start dangling carrots.

Yes, there is no need for panic, it's just part of the contract process and Dusty doesn't seem concerned, he's playing great footy. Why should we be concerned even if he doesn't sign soon after the CBA is finalised? In the end if he chases more dough and doesn't want to play with us (which I don't think will happen) then we just move on. We bargain hard for high picks as compensation or excellent replacements from other clubs. Aren't we a few years away from a serious flag tilt anyway? It would be great to keep him but you can't depend on just one player to get that prize anyway because an injury might come at the worst possible time. Quality depth is what you need not one or two stars.Tigertough1974 said:This is a stupid post, I'm sure the club is aware of their position, however as all clubs, they don't comment in season on players contracts...
As others have pointed the CBA hasn't been finalized and even if it had, other clubs cannot make a formal offer although as we know they do, so once the CBA is complete if he doesn't sign with us shortly after I would be concerned, until that time all the huffing and puffing is futile.
