Ok, so I reckon there is a fair chance this is total BS.

But, if it isn't, then I will be very very disappointed. All the talk about Richmond, the love of the fans etc will come off as being completely hollow and just a bunch of BS.

I hope, and expect, that Dustin Martin is not the type who would act like that.

If he goes to some sort of coaching role at GC, fine, that is completely different. Playing? No way. He would also be trashing his reputation as someone deserving of respect.

Yep. Nothing official yet. Maybe just an enquiry he made with Brando.

We saw signs from Dusty and Bolton this year that suggested checked out.

Kudos to Baker and our leader of the three amigos who played the season out.

Mark Evans confirmed Dusty reached out to them so it must be true. I reckon he could still play good football for another couple of years if he wants to. It's just a shame it won't be at the Tiges.

The club is to blame , they enabled his off field antics in 2020 , I sent an email asking what the sales girl was doing in the hub at the time , no explanation , the club allowed it , let’s not forget that year we couldn’t leave our houses and a a sales manager my in one took a hit , what was the sales girl doing in the hub for the Richmond Football club in 2020 certainly not engaging with the members or corporates , the club lost its way that year and we have been paying for it ever since,

We rewarded lying cheating prick and assistants walked , our culture was destroyed that year , the *smile* even had the gall to thank his wife for the support on grand final night .

Bang on. The club was even pushing *smile* vaccines to end lockdowns too.

The club lost its way from 2020 onwards and it won't recover for a long time.

The soul has been ripped out of the joint.

I read this as you don't have to sign the papers to be considered retired. 1000024277.jpg

What a garbage post. Every club was advocating vaccines. What I really want to know is, how does that equate to losing its way?
How does your strawman come together.
It was just an acorn.

Don’t bother.

All you’ll get is leaps in logic, conflation of disparate facts that don’t hang together or some mangled correlation equating to causation argumentation.

Which may eventually be whittled down to ‘it’s my opinion and I’m entitled to it’, coupled with a never ending torrent of swipes at the coach and club (for not remaining awesome forever)

Like every other club seems to have done.

Brace yourself for many more digital farts in 2025.

This would seem like common sense to me. Otherwise 'retiring' players could get around the trading system. So I am guess that would make Dusty a Free Agent and Richmond entitled to compensation. Will be an interesting test for the AFL's herbs and spices formula - I suspect anything short of a first rounder may cause a riot!

Prefer the club stays out of that space and focuses on its core business instead.

I want them out of pokies too.

Obviously bigger issues at play.

WTF?

He played for us

Had cold shark eyes

Was brilliant, an all-timer

Ram his course with Richmond after over a decade and all his best years

End of story
So what is important to you? What means snything?

Starting another pointless thread is probably more important to you.

Integrity is worth something.

He seems like the type who might struggle out of footy? Maybe he’s freaking out, who knows

He said goodbye to us, as good as a retirement. I just don’t understand the emotion
How could you when you are so wrapped up
in yourself?

The premierships were built on authenticity - you think after everything we were told its authentic if we see dusty in a GC jumper next year?

I would have thought clubs who have a contracted player retire during their contract (even in the last year) would need to lodge the paperwork at the end of their contract as we would need to keep paying the player until the end of the year.

Hence, Martin retired, cannot go to another club next year, we would only need to lodge any paperwork by the time the lodgements are required for the end of the year.

Of course, if he is technically not retired, then we are entitled to compensation.

They can't have it both ways, well, it's the AFL so they may just engineer it so they can, but it will be pretty obvious they are screwing us so I expect a response from the club.
