Dayle Garlett

Really? Your normally on the money. That hurts. We were obviously looking to bolster the front half late on.

Yep, wouldn't have taken him if we had our second pick, but we definitely would've with 50 if he was available.

Good luck to the fella tho, hopefully he realises the opportunity he has and takes it with both hands (except against us, I hope he has shockers ;D )

By losing Buddy and drafting Garlett, the Hawks have maintained their one *smile* policy.

:hihi

It is going to be interesting to see how this one pans out. I hope for Garlett's sake he can get things under control.

Or a club rolling/lighting the joint then passing it in public so he slips to there next pick Baloo...

Always a possibility but people were thinking that last year too.

Anyway, good luck to the kid. Hope he makes the most of his opportunity

Garlett will show the football world what a gun he is and every other club that were too scared to take him will be spewing .sometimes the talent is that good that you've just got to take a punt i will say it again i wish it was us thatt took him

At pick 12?

Exactly willo. I do not understand how people think we could have taken him. No way in hell was it worth using pick 12. Even if we had of used a 2nd round pick (if we still had it), people would have been very angry next season when we had no support for big Ivan. Using that pick on Garlett would have meant we missed out on a decent ruck man (which we would have been forced to use a third round pick on and seriously, what can you get for that pick).

I know I didn't want Hampson, not because I think he sucks (purely because he was a blue player) but gee, if he can help in the ruck then he was worth that pick. How many other rucks can you get in that cost so little.

I don't have any faith that Garlett will toe the line and once he settles in I think it will be Buddy revisted for the Hawks. Good luck to them. We do not need that potential headache.

Well I heard there was no way we were going to consider bringing him into the club. They don't want anymore headaches and disruptions to the playing group. Which is why we've been choosing kids with good character and leadership potential these days. Don't think Dimma, Francis or Benny have forgotten the whole Troy Taylor debacle. And we've had our hands full with Dusty so bringing in Dayle was not gonna happen.

he would have been top 5 in last years draft .

What? He would have gone top 5 in last years draft? You realise he was eligible and nominated for last years draft, yeah? He definitely didn't go top 5 like you said he would have, he actually didn't even go in the top 179 of the ND, PSD or rookie draft.

Ah! But, sadly, there were plenty of off field issues funky.

(Posted in a non smart arsey manner) :)

They're certainly taking a hard line. We'll see.
