It's ok to say you don't want him to make it.

Might have some humble pie to eat SCOOP ;D

Unfortunate for the kid.

Shame, i personally really want to see the best and exciting players playing.... i know he hasn't played a game yet but everyone was putting him in Rioli type talent bracket and its great to watch these type of players...

He joins the long list that struggle with the demands of the game.
And this answers the question why he was such a high risk selection.
Image if we picked him up ::)

He isn't the first and won't be the last to struggle with the demands of the game.

I wonder if Dusty and Dan have a spare room Dayle could rent. Triple Ds

Hmm, I am now very happy that we did not recruit Garlett. I can imagine the meltdown of our supporters.

I feel for the kid though and hope his mental demons can be overcome.

Big Ivan struggling with injury, thankfully Hampson is sitting in the background, and young Garlett is struggling with the demands of AFL footy. Our recruiting staff are either psychic or just very astute judges of the risk reward nature of the draft. They are looking like geniuses and a few posters on web forums looking a bit naive.

hahah. A first year player taking break from footballer after the four months.

Happens at ever club. Standard practice to send a player away for a few. Pretty sure we did something similar with Tambling.

Long way to go in this one.

Spot on Scoop. Burge said of Lennon's knee injury something along the lines of it being a good opportunity for him to have a break and recharge. Young players would go through this kind of thing all the time

Not sure you can credit our recruiters as astute for skipping on Gartlett. All clubs passed on him in two successive years. I think it's fairly obvious to most he is damaged goods with a low chance of making it. There was a very vocal minority claiming he is the messiah but like most religious zealots, they're out of tune with reality.

Big difference between Lennon having a break Stylo and the type of break they are talking about for Garlett. Come on. Not even in the same ball game.

Hope the kid pulls through but odds are against him.

If we had recruited him and this was happening the Garlett thread would be longer than Tamblings when he was traded from the RFC.

We couldnt afford to take the risk. The Hawks could.

If Garlett doesn't make it at Hawthorn he will never make it. The Hampster trade is certainly looking better every day.

Grasping at straws there Scoop.

Maybe just another one of those indigenous players who can't bear Victorian weather or society situations.

Yeah, like that McDonald kid we had a couple of years back. Couldn't handle Melbourne or AFL
